Obama, the Dems , and the delusion that is "high speed rail." We have some facts you need to consider.

Note: cost factors discussed in this post do not include construction for an electric train. We will inhabit Mars and cool the Sun, the biggest cause of global warming, along with a thing called "summer" -- before a coast to coast high speed rail will be constructed and run profitably.

Headline:

Republicans call $53B rail plan 'insanity'...

That's the headline; now, here is the rest of the story. That 53 billion dollars will build approx 380 miles of high speed rail. The project would take 10 to 15 years to complete and would need permanent government subsidies year after year -- kind a like AmTrac or the Post Office or ObamaCare.

If the Feds built 3000 miles of high speed rail, that cost would be close to half a trillion dollars at current construction rates, and would take 40 year to build, if, in fact, that ever happened. Passenger costs would be in the hundreds of dollars for shorter trips and thousands of dollars for coast to coast travel. The trip would take more than a week to traverse, including passenger stops and refueling.

We could go on but you get the drift. This "high speed rail" fantasy of the Dems is sheer idiocy and will never come to pass. The 53 billion? Understand that 42% of that money will have to be borrowed and nearly 50% of the 53b will go to administrative costs, waste and fraud (also known as "theft").

While folks can make a rhetorical case for high speed rail, absolutely no one can give us a financial plan that will get the job down. The is nothing but high speed crap. Somebody hurry and turn off the fan.
