Obama's "defining moment" has already happened. The nation's defining moment is just two years away.

Fox News and CNN are busy talking about the speech Obama intends to deliver tomorrow, in Arizona. It is being billed as "Obama's defining moment."

Nonsense. That already happened. Just days before the 2008 election he told a cheering crowd this:

We are 5 days from fundamentally changing the United States of America.

Thousands cheered. None had a clue as to what he was talking about. But, it was his defining moment.

Tomorrow will be Obama's effort to do what Clinton did after the Oklahoma bombing. It is all about fooling the people into believing that he is our leader and cares for the rule of civility and constitutional consequence. It means nothing. He remains the dedicated One World socialist redistributionist he has always been.

Should Obama forgo this speech? Probably not. We expect our presidents to be concerned with such things. Obama understands that if he loses the 2012 elections, virtually all of his socialist/legislative accomplishments will be reversed. Sadly, he , alone, can effectively push back the conservative hordes in pursuit of his political strategies. One guy. And he is the one.

And his new public strategy is working. Gallup has his approval numbers at 50% for the first time in months and Rasmussen shows his 7 day averages at 48%, up from 43% just eight weeks.

He is busy sprinting to the political middle to the dismay of his hard left base, the folks who put him in office. Can he run from the Michael Moore's of the world and win the next election? Well, no one really knows, but, apparently, Obama is gearing up to try.

He fooled us once. Can he do it again? That is the defining question for this nation.
