The Union rally versus the Grassroots rally . . . . no contest.

Midknight Review began back in the summer of 2008. Between then and December 26, 2009, the blog received 22,000 plus "hits." On the 26th, the original blog was "taken down" because of a critical article we wrote about Obama, Fannie/Freddie, and the funding license Congress gave to Obama on a midnight vote, Christmas Eve, when no one was looking.

At any rate, the blog - as a "B" blog - is well on the road to recovery. Yesterday, we had our best day ever, including the original blog, 442 hits for the whole blog and 362 for the mainpage only. In fact, by 7:00 am, Sunday morning, we had 133 hits! In recent times, since we booted up in January of this year with Midknight Review - new and revised, two individual articles have seen record traffic. Back in August, the folks were most interested in the Honoring America rally. Blog records were set on the wave of interest in that rally. This past Sunday was no different . . . . a record day as we rode the wave of interest in the One Nation rally.

Specifically, the concern as relates to both rallies was for the size of each. Here are the Google records for the two articles:

Oct 2, 2010
. . . . . . . . . . . . 168 Pageviews
Aug 30, 2010
. . . . . . . . . . . . .158 Pageview

Over the weekend, especially Sunday, there were dozens of headlined articles claiming the One Nation rally was larger than the Honoring America rally. We have pictorial proof that this far from being true. The actual contrast is between 130,000 at the union rally and 700,000 and 800,000 at the grassroots rally. (See the articles on the "scroll down.")

There were more differences between the two events than the size of the two rallies. One rally was a grassroots event, while the One Nation event was a union organized event. Half of the 130,000 attending the One Nation rally were bused in, their expenses fully paid by their unions. None of that was the case with Honoring America . . . . . the entitlement class versus the working part of the middle class.

The unionsponsored rally was made up of leftwing special interest groups including socialist and communist party interests. They were "all over the place." There was no "honoring America," no talks about the greatness of this country, no honor given to those who are fighting for our freedom of assembly (among other issues). At the union rally, signs, most manufactured by the unions, were prevalent while signs were disallowed at the Beck/Palin rally. The grounds of the Mall were left filthy by the entitlement crowd attending the union rally; the grounds were left pristine by the Honoring America assembly. No communist displays, no hate signs, no violence whatsoever at Honoring America. All of these were present at the Union rally, over the weekend.

Beginning in the afternoon on Sunday, the Marxist Media got the word to attack the patriotism of the Beck/Palin rally. A typical afternoon headline read "TEA Party wants America to fail." Going to our four news portals, this morning, we noted that most of these headlines have been taken down.

Point of post: to offer a contrast of the two rallies and note readership interest in the contest between the Union rally and the grassroots event.
