Palin's nomination as one of America's most powerful women turns out to be little more than a Forbes ambush.

Governor Sarah Palin comes in at #16 on a list of the top 100 most powerful women in the world list. Here is the official Forbes' comments on the Palin selection. You decide if the write-up is fair :

Unofficial hostess of the Tea Party, Palin has brilliantly exploited traditional as well as social media to fan the flames of discontent--and forced the GOP establishment to embrace the insurgency. As a political commentator on Fox (with a $1 million-a-year, multi-year contract) and deft user of Twitter (260,000 followers) and Facebook (2 million-plus fans), she has largely bypassed traditional media
to blast the press and the president. Palin has weighed in on 43 races in 30 states (her win-loss ratio is 2-to-1), and helped put relative unknowns like Nikki Haley, who is running for governor of South Carolina, and Joe Miller, up for Alaska's Senate seat, into contention. LINK

Editor's notes: As we read through the list, we made note of the hostile editorial treatment given to the Governor in a supposed explanation of why she was selected as a member of the list. No other woman on the Forbes' list was treated in this manner. We see this listing as nothing more than a set-up against the Governor, a disturbing opportunity for another liberal bash at a time when the Governor's power and influence was being celebrated. And to think that Michelle Obama scores #1 for doing next to nothing. ala her husbands Noble Peace Prize.

No mention is made of the fact that just three years ago, she was known only to a few in Alaskan politics. No mention of the fact that she is a self-taught politician, receiving little substantive help from anyone, much less from the McCain camp and the clowns who formulated his election strategy. No mention of the fact that she served as member of Wasilla, Alaska's, city council for 4 years or that she worked as Mayor of Wasilla for an additional six years. No mention of the fact that she was the youngest Alaskan governor in that state's history or that she was the first women to serve as Governor of Alaska. No mention of the fact that she served as chair of the Alaskan Oil and Gas Conservation Committee for nearly two years or that she was elected as president of the Alaskan Conference of Mayors in 1989. Nothing about her record setting book, Going Rogue, selling nearly 3 million copies -- more than any woman in American politics EVER. Not even a hint about the fact of her VP nomination or that she "brought the house down" with her acceptance speech at the GOP National Convention in 2008. Nothing.

Conclusion: we believe that regardless of what you think of Sarah Palin, to take the time to rank her on a list such as the Forbes' list and then do the write-up as if the person who authored the comment was nothing more than a spoiled liberal brat is rather disgusting. Either put Palin on the list without regret, or take your game somewhere else. It is this kind of manipulative hypocrisy the majority of Americans voting against come November 2.
