Chart is from the Department of Labor.
The US economy lost 95,ooo jobs in September . . . . very bad news for this mindless Administration. The chart to the left shows declines in the jobs market beginning in June of this year. The sharp increases in the jobs count since the beginning of 2010 but before June, were due to the million man hire the Feds made for the conduct of the US Census. Most of the census work was completed in July.
The fact remains that the jobs added to the economy by this Administration have been [largely] temporary jobs. The much touted Stimulus bill allocated only 3% of its funding for "infrastructure and contracts," and expensed this funding pool over a period of FOUR YEARS. Of course there are no jobs.
Understand that we need to create 120,000 to 150,000 a month just to keep up with population growth. In other words, taking the 120,000 growth demand and the 95,000 lost jobs count, we "went in the hole" to the tune of 215,000 jobs. You heard it first, here at Midknight Review.
We remind the readership of our report regarding the Gallup summary that gives us a 10.1% unemployment number instead of the 9.6 federal number. The difference? Gallup counts job lose in the "part-time" community while the Administration ignores this grouping. The implication, here, is that the Administration does not count unemployment benefits paid out if the monthly total for that payout is under a certain amount, thus, allowing them to forecast a much lower number than is factual.
Point of post: any improvement in the jobs market has been the product of smoke and mirrors. Temporary jobs are just that, temporary. We need real solutions, not redistributive political dynamics that are seeding this great nation to hell and back.
Update: understand that 64,000 private sector jobs were created in September countered by the loss of 159,000 local and state government jobs. Obama has made much of the private sector job creation numbers, but ignores the fact that the private sector fell nearly a hundred thousand jobs short of doing what is needed. It kind of like announcing the score of a football game as "Washington, 35 points !!!!" . . . . . huh ??!! What about the other team? Turns out the announcer refused to announce that score because it was 137 . 35 points sounds pretty good until you realize the other team scored 137. Ditto with this jobs report.
Obama exclaims, "We created 64,000 jobs for 9 straight month of positive numbers!!!! " He never gets around to telling the People that we have fallen behind the mark for 14 months in a row, that "64,000" is 90,000 jobs SHORT of creating a positive [overall] jobs report for the month.
Smoke and mirrors.
