An associate of Jerry Brown calls Meg Whitman a “whore” over pension reform (AUDIO) — In a private conversation that was inadvertently taped by a voicemail machine, an associate of Democratic gubernatorial candidate Jerry Brown can be heard referring to his Republican opponent Meg Whitman as a. . . .
Editor's notes: if Whitman has made a deal with the unions of California, she just lost the California gubernatorial election. Period.
Brown calls Whitman a whore, in this audio. But that is not the most disturbing comment. Rather, it is his charge that she has made a deal with the state's unions regarding their pension funding. Understand that this is a phone call Brown made to the union. THEY are telling him about the Whitman deal. The call is not staged and is a dependable revelation for that reason.
Hopefully, this will not spill over to the Fiorina campaign, as well.
This editor could not be more angry about this situation. Of course, she needs to be allowed a defense, but, still, how does one overcome this ?? Again, Brown is talking on the phone without knowledge -- or so we believe -- that the call was being recorded. Calling Whitman a "whore" is evidence of this thinking. Understand that Brown is being rejected with regard to an union endorsement because of the promises Whitman has supposedly made.
Unless she can mount a positive rebuttal, this editor will recommend a "none of the above" vote for governor.
