On Aug. 25, the trustees of Andover Township sent a letter saying: “Due to your group’s political affiliation, in our opinion as a case by case option we are denying your request to use Andover Township Park.”
A libertarian group filed an appeal and the court agreed. Understand that the Andover TEA Party wanted commemorate Sept. 17, 1787, the day the U.S. Constitution was implemented. It is forever amazing to this editor that so many anti-Constitutionalists are loose, running around pretending to be Americans.
Understand this: THE 1ST AMENDMENT IS ALL ABOUT THE PROTECTION OF POLITICAL SPEECH. That is the specific form of speech the framers had in mind when they wrote the 1st amendment. We know that the question of free speech has been complicated over the years. Speech that causes unnecessary fear, seditious speech (whatever that is) and hate speech are all legal considerations that confuse the original intent of the amendment and allow Marxist barons to move into the public arena with hope of controlling speech under these various banners.
