Pictured left are blogger Pamela Geller and Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, the radical Muslim pushing for the "Cordoba House," a combination recreation center and Muslim Mosque (with plenty of back rooms - if you get our drift), that will sit just 600 feet from Ground Zero. Geller is leading the battle against the location of this proposed mosque in New York City; the Imam is its defender.
Do the Muslims have a right to build where they want? Of course and Obama's lecturing on that point is completely beside the real issue. NO ONE BELIEVES THEY DO NOT HAVE A RIGHT TO BUILD. But most of the nation believes that such a move is self-serving and an insult to the loss of life and sacrifices made because of jihadist Islam.
Lets not forget that Islam destroyed all of the Buddhist monuments in Afghanistan when they conquered that country 20-30 years ago. Does anyone think it a coincidence that the Dome of the Rock was built directly over the ruins of the Jewish temple, in Jerusalem ?? And now this insult - building a mosque as close to "ground zero" as possible. Anyone know where "Cordoba" came from, as in "Cardoba House" ? Well, in the Middle Ages, Cordoba was one of the largest Islamic cities in the entire world, a tribute to Islamic dominance in Spain and that part of Europe. Clearly, this Islamic structure is about the Islamic victory that was 9/11. If you do not agree, your ancestors probably did not walk upright. We oppose this project for its location and the opposition's failure to answer these two questions: What should we think about the Imam's refusal to reveal his funding sources for this piece of architectural tripe? And why the tribute name, "Cordoba"? Case closed. -- jds.
