This is the most important bit of polling information since Obama took office And it ain't good for the Novice -- 58% dissaprove.

Today, for the first time in his term in office, Obama's Rasmussen most likely voters approval numbers have fallen to 41% . This is a mark against his Tuesday evening 18 minute nothing speech. Nobody liked the speech and his approval numbers are beginning to demonstrate that fact.

Midknight Review has stated its belief that Obama cannot fall below 41% without having lost significant support within his base -- and that is the current reality. When you have Bill Maher and John Stewart (of the Daily Show) and Kieth Olbermann and Chris Matthews turning on your speech, you are in trouble. Apparently there is one huge consideration that has brought opposing forces together and that is the crisis in the Gulf.

From Rasmussen: Overall, 41% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the president's performance. That’s the lowest level of approval yet recorded for this president. Fifty-eight percent (58%) now disapprove. (link)

Of course, the real news is not the 41% record low approval number but the 58% record high number of those who disapprove -- again, this is a poll of those most likely to actually vote in an election.
