Nancy Pelosi yanks campaign finance bill
This was a bill specifically designed to counter a Supreme Court decision late last year that established corporate speech as protected speech. If you remember Obama's State of the Union speech in January, you will remember his angry outburst against the High Court justices as they sat in the front rows of congress. Many missed the point of his anger -- that the very people he had demonized for a full year, Corporate America, had been given the right to speak out against this anti-business president and to fund that dissent with corporate profit dollars. The Court's decision made Corporate America a serious player in the coming campaign to rid America of this presidential disaster. Understand that in a 2009 Bloomberg survey, 77% of Wall Street executives and CEO's thought Obama to be "anti-business." Obama had made fun of them and worse, used them as wiping boys to gain the upper hand in his spending agenda. With the High Court's decision, he now has to face a huge number of very angry business executives in 2010 and 2012.Pelosi withdrew the current proposed legislation because the bottom had fallen out of its base support. Even environmental groups apposed this thing. Without this legislation, Corporate America will have a say in the coming midterms. The legislation's withdrawal means there is no chance for a similar bill before the midterm elections. Obama's minions are about to face an angry America --------- with lots of money to spend -- jds.
