What we know, now, from tracking Obama's polling numbers for the past four weeks is that the healthcare bill's passage did not help his approval numbers, as many had supposed. What has added to the current turndown? Continued revelations as to the cost of the healthcare bill and homeland security issues with regard to the Times Square bomber and the criminalization of this country's "war on terror."

You should know that the Presidential Approval Index is a measure of the enthusiasm of Obama's minion's in contrast to the conservative opposition. Negative numbers indicate a decline in Obama's base emotion. The greater the negative number, the better for the conservative opposition. When this chart was begun by Rasmussen, + 30 was the high mark (Jan 22, 209). Obama has been in the negative since last June 30 of last year. . . . . a most significant fact when it comes to predicting the coming elections.
