Liz Cheney is a hero and Mark Levin gives her his blessings.

As many of you know, Liz Cheney is under fire from the Right for criticizing some of the lawyers hired by the DOJ and Eric Holder - nine of whom have defended terrorists before, 7 of those 9 Holder refused to identify until he was literally forced to do so.

Pardon us for being suspicious in the face of such a refusal. While a number of lawyers, from the Right as well as the Left, are standing in line to criticize Cheney and her Keep America Safe website, the Great One, Mark Levine, a Constitutional lawyer in his own right, has this to say in support of Cheney"

“The isn’t the Boston Massacre. You have people in the position of defending this nation at the highest levels of the Justice Department who have represented the enemy, and their belief systems have clearly affected national security policy. … And in some cases, these lawyers were not just representing clients, they went out and found them, sought them out. They considered them some of the most important cases they ever had. “Due process rights for the enemy? Absolutely. Civilian justice for the enemy? Absolutely.” Now they’re in government making the same exact decisions except they are setting policy. … Ben Smith at Politico, why don’t you make a list of some lawyers like me, former Chief of Staff to Attorney General Meese; I side with Liz Cheney and Debra Burlingame and Keep America Safe.”

Do enemy combatants deserve legal representation? Probably - but not before we have a chance to shoot them. There is a difference between representation and and supportive representation. There are lawyers who occasionally defend gangsters. There are other lawyers who do nothing but defend gangsters. We think there is a difference. Are the "al Qaeda 7" in that last category? We don't know. And we will never know if someone doesn't ask the question . . . . and we will never know if someone refuses to give us forthright and honest answers.

The average onlooker will conclude that "something is wrong" when folks withhold information they have no right to withhold -- as is the case with Obama and Eric Holder.

Liz Cheney not only wanted to know the names of those hired from Holder's previous law firm, she wants to know where they work within the DOJ, what cases they are working on -- especially if they are working on or have defended specific terrorists. We -- the people - do have the right to know the answers to these questions.

Holders refusal to answer ALL the questions posed to him makes as much sense as public school teachers refusing to allow their class lectures from being tape recorded. If we - the people - pay through the nose both your salary and your legacy package, we have the right to know what you are saying to our children or if you are prosecuting terrorists you once defended -- jds
