From Open Congress we have this weekly review but first, we point out the fact that when it was announced that "all non-critical personnel were to stay home during the blizzard," 240,000 people in D.C. did not go to work. Our question is this (and we know it is an over-simplification), if the government can get along without them, why did they come back? While Congress was "down," the cost of government continued at $100 million per day (FoxNews). Anyway, here is the Open Congress report. Make note of the fact that Reid cut the Jobs Bill from $80 billion to $15 billion because of included tax cuts designed to get bi-partisan support. In other words, Reid said "to heck with the GOP" and cut them out of the proposal:
