Justice Ginsburg on abortion as population control -- in her own words:

An embryo's heart has begun to beat after 18 days; the brain, spinal cord and nervous system are established at 21 days; brain waves are detectable at 40 days; and by 7 weeks gestation the embryo can move on its own. At 9 weeks (see our picture) the infant is being supplied nutrients via the umbilical cord and is very much a living human being. Of course, that does not figure into the political debate nor do the rights of the father -- editor

Ginsburg in her own words: (a July '09 interview with the NY Times - page 4)

JUSTICE GINSBURG: Yes, the ruling about that surprised me. [Harris v. McRae — in 1980 the court upheld the Hyde Amendment, which forbids the use of Medicaid for abortions.] Frankly I had thought that at the time Roe was decided, there was concern about population growth and particularly growth in populations that we don’t want to have too many of. So that Roe was going to be then set up for Medicaid funding for abortion. Which some people felt would risk coercing women into having abortions when they didn’t really want them. But when the court decided McRae, the case came out the other way. And then I realized that my perception of it had been altogether wrong.

Let's be clear on this point: Ginsburg is not admitting that her thinking about abortion as a means to control "growth in populations . . . we don't want to have too many of . ." is wrong, but her thinking that the Roe vs Wade decision would be used to strike a legal cord for Federally funded abortions. This Administration shares her thinking. Obama is an abortion freak - never having voted against any kind of abortion procedure.

It is a sign of our national barbarism that the abortion debate for the Lefties has nothing at all to do with the life of the unborn infant/ In fact, "festus" is code for "this little thing ain't human so it is alright to kill it."
