From The Hill: Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell's (R-Ky.) reelection campaign is seizing on the fight over impeachment, pledging in Facebook ads that he will lead Republican efforts to stop President Trump from being removed from office.

"Nancy Pelosi's in the clutches of a left-wing mob. They finally convinced her to impeach the president. All of you know your Constitution, the way that impeachment stops is a Senate majority with me as majority leader," McConnell says in an ad that began running on Thursday.

Editor notes: As things stand in the moment, the fact that this impeachment nonsense in the House does not any Congressional Republicans proves the partisan nature of this impeachment process. More than the partisan alignment, the fact that Democrats have been calling for impeachment since immediately following the 2016 election proves, again, the purely partisan nature of the House process.

So partisan, in fact, that I do not believe this will ever go to the Senate. Pelosi and her leadership team know full that a failed and partisan impeachment effort will hurt the Dems in the coming elections. Case closed. End of story.
