"If the president simply tweeted out an image from classified briefing that utilizes our most advanced overhead collection capabilities, it is no doubt welcome news to our adversaries," said Eddington, now a research fellow at the CATO Institute.
So, the President tweeted a classified pic of an Iraian military site and an anti-Trump technician tries to turn the tweet into a huge mistake. Here is the problem with that nonsense: In publishing this tweet and the classified picture, Trump is telling the Iranian's, "You have no place to hide. We are watching yourevery move."
Brilliant move.
Mission Statement: This blog reviews the news of the day in light of 242 years of American history. "Nationalism," a modern day pejorative, has been our country's politic throughout history, until 2008. Obama changed that narrative. Trump is seeking a return to our historical roots. Midknight Review supports this return to normality.
The Times tries to indict the President, in a subtle effort to indict Trump of leaking classified information. But this is their problem:
New York Times: In a Tweet Taunting Iran, Trump Releases an Image Thought to Be Classified
The Times tries to indict the President in a subtle effort to indict Trump of leaking classified information. But this is their problem: As President, Trump or any President, can release classified information at will. I mean, he is our Intel's top dog. Of course the Times knows this, but, at the same time, the Time's editorial staff knows that the general population does not keep up with such things.

About Dimocrat Ryan and his silly strategy for winning the nomination:
Tim Ryan, Dimocrat candidate for President, told CNN that he has a clear strategy for helping the lower 75% of Americans. Could this clown be more deeceiving?
The fact of the matter is this: a full 50% of our nation's population does not pay any federal or state income tax. More than this, these folks are the bulk population for food stamps, rent assistance and a "tax refund" on maney they do not pay to the IRS. The status/progressive community justifies this transfer of wealth based on two considerations - (A) money the poor would have received as a child tax credit if they were taxpayers and (B) money they spend in sales tax .. . . but, again, they don't pay taxes so the Feds give them the money anyway.
When Ryan says "he is going to help this poplation, he really means to say that WE, the taxpayers, are going to 'help" these folks. Understand that for a poor family of four, all this free money can amount to as much as $48,000 per year.
Obviously, his campaign strategy is not working. He will be gone within weeks. BTW, Ryan if the on stage subversive who refused to put his hand to his heart while the national anthem played during one or both of the recent debate. The nation needs him like it needs a boil on the butt ~ editor.
Note: My mispelling of Dimocrat is a subtle reference to the moniker, "dimwitted."

. . . . . and the gap between Dimocrat and GOP grows even wider:
The DNC passes resolution praising secular humanists, the religiously unaffiliated August 30, 2019 The Democrats are targeting nonreligious voters as part of their strategy to beat President Trump, in part because Trump appears to have the evangelical vote locked up, and in part because it is who they are.

About Trump's diversion of FEMA funds . . . . we know where he got the idea.
Trump diverts FEMA funds ($271) to the border issue:
116 miilion for single adult beds
155 million for temp immigrant leagalhearings
And "they" had a fit.
Note: After the Trump diversion, there remains more than 4 million left in the FEMA FUND which will be replenished in the new fiscal year beginning October 1 of 2019, a little more than four weeks from now.
Never mind that Barack did almost exactly the same thing in 2014 in the middle of the hurricane season for that year.
267 million taken from FEMA for border issues
31.5 million taken from Coaast Guard maintenance projects.
As you consider the Obama diversion of funds in 2014, you should know that today's legal immigrant problem is 5x larger than that which was faced by Barack in 2014.

Editor: A "blow to . . . Putin's prestige" ??? What kind of drivel is this? Understand that Russia annexed Crimea in 2014 and did not pay a price for that bit of military aggression. Oh, Obama had Russia expelled from the G- 8 which is like telling someone who murdered my sister that we were not going to invite him over for dinner . . . . . ever. Besides, AFTER Crimea, Barack promised to be more flexibe with Putin . . . . so don't preach to Conservatives about the evils of Putin. Barack and the Dims spent eight years kissing up to Putin, Castro, and Chavez, while ignoring the existential threat posed by North Korea, China, and Syria.

About the inversion cycle on the Street:
You should know that inversion (2 year bond yield higher than the 10 year bond yeild)does not always predict "recession." But when it does, recession - on average - is 22 months into the future. Sorry Libs, but a recession will not dethrone our President . . . . all this according to the wonks on Fox Business News amd CNBC.
Update: You should know that we average a recession every seven years. In other words, we are due, but the economy is strong (while the rest of the world is struggling), and in this historic "strength cycle," the Market serves as a hedge against an immediate recession.

He beat the Russian charges, is buiding the fence/wall, has done more for our vets than any President in memory, has given tax breaks to the corporate job providing world and 60% of our working middle class and may restructure our trading world.
The U.S. Customs and Border Protection Agency (CBP) has released new drone
footage of 60 miles of new border wall being installed near San Luis,
Arizona, a site where foreigners have been seen pouring into America. We have never elected a President so determined to keep his campaign promises as President Trump. How many times has he been defeated in his effort to secure funding for his promised wall? Me? I have lost count, and yet, he keeps coming up with legal solutions . . . . and finally has won a 2.5 billion dollar award via the Supreme Court. The fencing pictured below is in addition to the 2.5 billion dollars of new construction, as is the 139 miles of 30 foot "replacement" fencing currently being built in three different sectors in Arizona and near El Paso.
TRUMP MAY KILL MORE PROPLE THAN HITLER, STALIN AND MAO COMBINED.
REPORTED IN THE HILL:The former chairman of psychiatry at Duke University said Sunday during an interview with CNN's Brian Stelter that President Trump may be responsible for more deaths than Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin and Mao Zedong.
"Calling Trump crazy hides the fact that we’re crazy for having elected him and even crazier for allowing his crazy policies to persist," Allen Frances, the author of "Twilight of American Sanity," said on CNN's "Reliable Sources." "Trump is as destructive a person in this century as Hitler, Stalin and Mao were in the last century. He may be responsible for many more million deaths than they were. He needs to be contained, but he needs to be contained by attacking his policies, not his person."

189 miles of new replacement fencing has been or is currently being built plus Pentagon funding for several hundred miles of additional fencing.
So far in Trump's presidency, more than 60 miles of existing barriers
and fences have been replaced with new wall, according to a Department
of Homeland Security official.
DHS has been referring to replacement wall as "new," but to date, not a single mile of wall has been built where no barrier previously existed. (So what. The replacement wall is nonetheless "new." This 30 foot wall replaces a nominal 6 foot barbwire fence that does nothing to prevent illegal border crossings ~ editor).
DHS is currently replacing 124 miles of fencing with new wall in the El Paso, El Centro and Tucson sectors. In mid-September, the government expects to start building an additional 5 miles in the Yuma sector.
A recent Supreme Court decision has enabled the Trump administration to begin building new wall with Pentagon funds (2.5 billion dollars) through Trump's emergency declaration. Some of that money is now being used on border barrier projects, AP reported.

NOW, THE CHEROKEE NATION IS GOING AFTER ELIZABETH WARREN.
A Native American activist and citizen of Cherokee Nation slammed Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) in a Huffington Post op-ed Friday, calling on her to “tell the truth” about her ancestors’ interactions with indigenous tribes — alleging that her maiden family, the Crawfords, were “white squatters” on Cherokee land.
Author Rebecca Nagle penned a post titled “Elizabeth Warren Has Spent Her Adult Life Repeating A Lie.” I Want Her To Tell The Truth.” Nagle said she was unmoved by the apology Warren issued at the Native American Presidential Forum Monday, where the Massachusetts senator admitted she made a “mistake” but did not elaborate on what the mistake was.You are looking at 48 miles of 30 foot fencing replacing 6 foot barbwire fencing the Dems want folks to believe was a serious attempt at fence building.
The Supreme Court gave Trump his 2.5 billion taken from Pentagon funding. This is in addition to the 56 miles of 30 foot fencing already built and the 48 miles of replacement fence. So, do not believe that Trump is not hell-bent on keeping his promise for the wall. But what about Mexico paying for the Wall you might ask ?
You should know that Trump has convinced Mexico to place 26,000 troops at its Northern and Southern borders, cutting border arrests by nearly 50%. When one combines the monthly costs for these troops and the millions of dollars (again monthly) in cost reduction for Border Reinforcement, one can argue that Mexico is, indeed paying for the wall.
Nadler continues to pursue impeachment in spite of public opinion otherwise. (He actually thinks he is going to change minds on this issue).
Monmouth University Poll results:
When asked if they believe a Republican-controlled Senate is likely to impeach Trump after a Democrat-controlled House does so, 75% of respondents said no. A majority of those questioned even thought that House Judiciary Committee Chairman and New York Democratic Rep. Jerry Nadler should lay off his impeachment inquiry, with 51% opposing further action

THE TRADE WAR WITH CHINA JUST GOT REAL:
A bomshell tweet from the President (8:20 am Friday morning)
Our Country has lost, stupidly, Trillions of Dollars with China over many years. They have stolen our Intellectual Property at a rate of hundreds of billions of dollars a year & they want to continue. I won't let that happen! We don't need China and, frankly, would be far better off without them. The vast amounts of money made and stolen by China from the United States, year after year for decades, will and must STOP. Our great American companies are hereby ordered to immediately start looking for an alternative to China, including bringing your companies home and making your products in the USA. I will be responding to China's Taroffs this afternoon. This is a great opportunity for the United States. Also, I am ordeering all carriers, including Fed Ex, Amazon, UPS and the Post Office to search for and refuse all deliveries of Fentanyl from China (or anywhere else!) . Fentanyl kills 100,000 Americans a year. Presidentt XI said this would stop - it didn't. Our Economy, because of our gains in the last 2 1/2 years is MUCH largeer than that of China. We will keep it that way!
Upate: You should know that this tweet comes after China announced an escaluation in their version of the trade war .

How to beat gun registration between family members:
I have four guns (one long rifle, two shot guns and and a nine m handgun) that will be given to my kids . . . . without registration . . . . when I die. Here is why they do not have to worry about the State taking those guns: Just don't kill anyone and you are home free. Besides, here in California, the State does not keep registration records on rifles/shotguns after six months. Why? too many such guns to keep tabs on.
BTW, my single shot H&R 12 guage belonged to my brother and has never been registered . . . . and never will be. (Sometimes, you beat the system by simply ignoring the system.)

If this poll represents public opinion, it also mirrors enthusiams for a Trump Secon term.
A growing number of Americans, now a substantial majority, believe
that President Trump is at least “somewhat likely” to win reelection,
according to a new survey.
Despite nonstop negative headlines and concerns of an economic stall, 63% believe Trump is heading to reelection in Scott Rasmussen’s latest 2020 poll.
And, he said, those expectations have continued to grow even as the Democratic presidential primary race heats up.
In his daily memo, Rasmussen said, “The president’s job
approval
rating has also remained stable throughout the year. Despite that
stability, the number who believe it’s likely that the president will be
re-elected has grown every month. In August, 63% say President Trump is
at least somewhat likely to be re-elected, up from 46% in February.”
Editor: Keep in mind that Hispanics give Trump a 40% approval rating, up from 29% in 2016. And, the rating within the GOP is as high as 92%, up from 87% in 2016.
If Trump wins re-election, 2024 may see a fully restructured GOP leaning more conservative. While folks like Mitt Romney suggest that Trump has abandoned Conservative values, Mitt came out this week in support of a carbon tax . . . . hardly a typical position for a status Republican.

Even Bill Maher sees the idiotsy of it all:
Maher drew applause in studio on his HBO show after declaring the boycott, divestment and sanctions (BDS) movement supported by some congressional Democrats “a bullshit purity test by people who want to appear woke but actually slept through history class.”
“It’s predicated on this notion, I think — it’s very shallow thinking — that the Jews in Israel, mostly white, and the Palestinians are browner, so they must be innocent and correct, and the Jews must be wrong. As if the occupation came right out of the blue, that this completely peaceful people found themselves occupied,” he said.
Even Bill Maher see's the hypocrisy
Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., suggested Saturday that viewers boycott
comedian Bill Maher’s HBO talk show after he devoted a segment of
Friday’s program to bashing the anti-Israel Boycott, Divestment,
Sanctions (BDS) movement, calling it a “bulls— purity test.”
“Maybe folks should boycott his show,” said Tlaib, who went on to compare criticism of the BDS movement to the controversy surrounding boycotts of South Africa’s apartheid regime in the 1970s and 1980s.
“I am tired of folks discrediting a form of speech that is centered on equality and freedom,” the lawmaker continued. “This is exactly how they tried to discredit & stop the boycott to stand up against the apartheid in S. Africa. It didn’t work then and it won’t now.”
Maher’s segment came one day after the Israeli government said it would deny entry to Tlaib and Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., for their support of the BDS movement following an appeal from President Trump.

In case you were wondering just how California Leftists plan on teaching your chilkdren:
Out of the Daily Caller: A proposed California schools curriculum includes anti-Israel
programming and also aims to teach students a one-sided view of police
officers and police brutality.
The Ethnic Studies Model Curriculum, proposed by the California Department of Education, includes anti-Israel bias and aims to teach students about the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement, a Palestinian-led anti-Israel initiative. The curriculum also has students study issues of police brutality and asks teachers to find incidents of bias by police in their own communities.
The “#BlackLivesMatter and Social Change” portion of the curriculum is aimed at grades 9–12, according to the proposed curriculum reviewed by the Daily Caller News Foundation. The purpose of this lesson is to expose students “to contemporary discussions around policing in the U.S., specifically police brutality cases where unarmed African Americans have been killed.”

Important facts ignored by the Google Left:
Do you know nine out of 10 people that ICE arrests are convicted criminals [with] pending criminal charges against a United States citizen? Do you know that ICE took enough opioids off of the street last year to kill every man, woman and child in this country twice? Do you know ICE saved thousands of children from child predators … hundreds of women from sex trafficking? Do you know ICE arrested 137,000 criminals, public safety threats off of your streets to make your streets safer?
Former ICE Director Tom Homan and National Border Patrol Council President Brandon Judd reacted to Google employees signing a petition against their employer potentially working with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
Over 600 Google employees signed the petition stating they “refuse” to be “complicit” in a potential cloud computing contract with the federal government.
“It’s
time to stand together again and state clearly that we will not work on
any such contract,” the petition states. “We demand that Google
publicly commit not to support CBP, ICE or ORR [Office of Refugee
Resettlement] with any infrastructure, funding or engineering resources,
directly or indirectly, until they stop engaging in human rights
abuses.”
Appearing on Friday night’s “The Ingraham Angle” with guest host Jason Chaffetz, Homan began the segment by calling for employees who “want to see their company lose millions [in] contracts with the federal government” to be fired.

The Daily Caller: President Trump made an appearance on
Tuesday at a Shell petrochemical plant in Beaver County, Penn., and
workers there were given a choice to attend the speech or get an unpaid
day off, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
Union workers were reportedly given the option to either attend the president’s speech or take the day off and not get paid. Contractors
and construction workers who have contracts with Shell were told those
who do not come to the event will have an excused absence, however they
would not get paid, according to the Post-Gazette. (RELATED: OPINION: California Workers Triumph Over Axis Of Union And Government Goons)

The investigation into the FBI and DOJ will be an expose on governmental abuse.
From the Daily Caller:
Since March 2018, Justice Department inspector general Michael Horowitz has investigated whether the FBI and DOJ misled the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court in applications for wiretap warrants against former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page.
Horowitz told Congress June 25 he had completed the investigation and was in the process of writing a report of his findings. Some Republican lawmakers said the report is likely to come out shortly after Labor Day.

Hey, these two women have no respect for the State of Israel so why would they care about a ban? They, themselves, have advocated for a boycott (aha "ban") on Israel. Turn-about seems fair.
Update: as of 7:45 amThursday, these two antiSemites have been ban for visiting Israel.

Interior Minister Arye Deri decided on Thursday not to allow pro-BDS congresswoman Rashida Tlaib (D-Michigan) and Ilhan Omar (D-Minnesota) to enter Israel, according to a Channel 12 report.
The two congresswomen were expected to arrive on Friday.
The report stated that although Deri has made this determination, the formal decision is currently going through the process of official approval, including the consideration by other parties and factors.
Despite many voices calling to allow the two to enter the country, Deri has reportedly decided to disregard them and proceed with the ban.

How does North Carolina look at this early stage in the 2020 cycle: Trump beats them all.
Recession . . . . the truth.
The last five times two year Treasuries dropped below 10 Year Treasury Yields, we entered into a recession at some point time. This is known as an "inversion."
Will this affect the 2020 elections? We don't know. You should be aware of the fact that the 2008 Collapse was preceded by an inversion in 2007, more than a year before the 2008 September Collapse. Excluding September of 2008, most of the remaining inversion events saw minor recesionary periods. In fact, 1966 to 1982, the Yield Curve was inverted 37% of the time and in everyone of those years, bank earnings went up (the very opposite of a recession).
Most financiers on Fox Business believe today's Market Event (down 600/700 points) still fall within a "normal cycle." Understand that Big Banking is very strong in spite of short term problems.
Let's not panic. International Trade does not fund our banking industry. Rather, bank funding is "domestic" in nature (10 trillion dollar in existing loan dollars).
My information comes from Fox Business , btw.
Update: Jim Acosta told CNN viewers that these inversion events are dependable predictors of coming reeceission. Of course, we know that when a recession follows an inversion event, there is a time-lapse of months, even years, before a looming recession strikes. Secondly, if a recession is not the result of a housing collapse (as per 2008), there is good reason to believe that that recession will not be a serious/crippling event. Third, there are many inversion events that do not end in recession. Julia Chatterley, a CNN reporter and colleague of Acosta's, told her morning audience on MSNBC, Wednesday, that inversion events do not always end in recession. She knows this . . . . Jim Acosta does not.
Again, the partisan/globalist Left and people like Jim Acosta, will push this idea of an immediate recession until it happens . . . . with the hope of defeating Trump in that event.

Chief Judge Beryl Howell of the District of Columbia wrote in an 11-page opinion Wednesday that the connections between the two cases as presented by the House Judiciary Committee “are too superficial and attenuated” to meet the requirement for designating the cases asrelated , which would have allowed them to be decided by the same judge.
The decision marks a blow for House Democrats, who argued earlier this week that the cases should be deemed related because “both seek key evidence for the Judiciary Committee’s investigation into whether to recommend articles of impeachment against President Donald J. Trump for potentially criminal obstructive conduct."

Janet Yellen: US 'most likely' not entering recession, but odds 'have clearly risen'
Yellen, a past Fed Chairwoman, is a fovorite of this blog. And, her comments are critically important, especially if they prove to corrent. Expect to see forcasts of "recession" as the campaign season continues. Nothing is more desirable to a Progressive Trump Hater than to see "recession" raise its ugly head.
As a novice reporter, I do not believe that a recession, should it happen, will be strong enough to reverse hiring trends, nor will it be strong enough to be considered as a "financial collapse."
Note: A recession is said to exist when the nation experiences two consecutive negative quarters in terms of GDP. "Near recession" is a prolonged period of 1.8 or less. Obama's economy averaged 1.6% per year for the entire 8 years of his time as President.

My question is this: will the Epstein scandal suck all the air out of the Democrats ad time and their effort to dethrone Trump?

If Trump wins in 2020, the GOP keeps the Senate but loses the House, here is what comes next:
Assuming our headline, Trump will be able to add another 200 judges to the ederal Bench and, no doubt, replace a Supreme Court vacancy.
He will have repaired existing fensing and installed hundreds of miles of new border fensing . . . the courts having already approved enough procedure to insure this event.
With another four years of Trump, the GOP will have time to rebuild itself after the mass departure of dozens of GOP status.
Finally, the millitary will have the finances and time to complete its rebuilding projects . . . battleships, firepower, fighter aircraft, and man power . . . projects begun in the second and third years of Trump.

Have you noticed: Trump mostly talks about his accomplishments and the Dems mostly talk about Trump being a rat-fink . . . no policies.
Of course, the Democrat debates are different, but "on the stump," and with the Progressive media, the rhetoric is nearly 100% anti-Trump pejoratives. They have nothing else.
To be sure, Pelosi will make a case for the 30 some odd bills the House has sent to the Senate and the fact that Mitch has not acted on them, but lets not forget the 360 bills sent to Senate during the Obama days, bills that the Democrat majority refused to even place into committee.
Understand that the current GOP playbook (for the Senate majority) came directly from the Democrats. It is their playbook that is being used. Payback is a bitch, right?

Midknight Review's editorial policy regarding Epstein's "suicide."
Many will believe that Jeffery Epstein was murdered before he could indict dozens of big name politicians and business folks. There is no way to measure the degree of harm his revelations could have done to the Democrat Party in the months and weeks before the most important election cycle of our life-times.
So he is gone and the case against him will be closed . . . . maybe. I mean, those who raped or molested his minor girls are still on the hook, no?
Just know that if important Democrats are involved, we will never see the full truth of this matter.
I have no intentions of following this story. I already know the outcome and so do you.

About the quiet transition of the GOP
Let's begin with the fact that Trump is not a "Tea Party Republican" in the strict sense of the word. No doubt that he is a Conservative, but one who is willing to work with the Democrats, a conservative that sees the need to spend money as he compromises with the Dems to repair the military . . . something the hard right was unwilling to do (talking about "compromise") . . . while the military grew weaker and weaker as a result.
Understand that Democrat Party Leadership could not care less about the health of our military. Under Obama, half of our air force, for example, was grounded due to lack of repair. Our Navy battler ship force was embarrassing down as was our ground forces count, Truth be told, we could not fight a two front war. The Dems would argue, "Neither can our enemies" which completely overlooks the fact that our geo-location in the physical world presents serious enemy opportunities to the East (Russia) and the West (China). We should never forget that it took two years to equip our military for a two front war during WW II (two years after Pearl Harbor).
The Dems love to quote the fact that we spend as much on our military as all other major powers combined. They overlook the fact that no other major power lives with as many enemies eager for victory, that no other country has as many nuclear-capable enemies as the USA.
Trump made the decision that rebuilding the military was more important than cutting spending, so he compromised with the Dems in order to empower our armed forces . . . a critical and sound decision.
Secondly, the Progressives have spent more than two decades stacking our federal court system with Globalist/Progressive judges. Trump has done more to reverse that trend than any conservative president in American history. He only needs the Senate to continue his efforts in this venue, and, as things stand at the moment, the Senate looks "safe" for conservatives.
Which brings me to "point three." The GOP will not retake the House. I believe that we lost the House in 2018 due to the fact the more than 40 Republicans resigned or retired out of the House. And, sadly, that trend appears to continue. What we are witnessing is the migration of the moderate/globalist Republican away from Congress and that migration will continue through 2020.
In the end, the GOP will return the House someday, but not in 2020 unless, of course, the Dems manage to turn off their voting base before the election. One thing for certain, there is a good chance that the "new" GOP will look more like Trump than the present leadership wants. You should know that the Patriot Nation is informed but increasing in the knowledge of a Left Wing Conspiracy dedicated to the abolition of conservative/nationalism and the implimenatation of a governance designed to move this nation toward a repressive globalism that threatens the freedom of independent minds and anyone who claims the true values of a patriot. . . . . . period.
Some facts about the Southern Border:
26,000 Mexican troops are stationed at the northern and southern borders in Mexico, and, it appears to be working.
Border apprehensions are down:
May apprehensions were 144,278,
June - 104,344
July - 82,049
Note: some of this decline is do to the summer heat, but a huge percentage is due to the deal Trump made with Mexico . . . . something neither GW or Obama could accomplish with Mexico.

Like his names sake (the Castro brothers), this clown thinks it proper and presidential to publish names and addresses of those who oppose him , , , putting them and their families in danger and then he stupidly criticizes Trump for engendering hate.
Daily Caller reports: Democratic Texas Rep. Joaquin Castro on Monday tweeted the names and employers of 44 San Antonio residents who donated the federal maximum to President Donald Trump’s reelection campaign.
Castro, whose district includes much of San Antonio, claimed the donors “are fueling a campaign of hate that labels Hispanic immigrants as ‘invaders.'” Castro is the twin brother of Democratic presidential candidate Julian Castro and chairs his presidential campaign.
“Democrats want to talk about inciting violence? This naming of private citizens and their employers is reckless and irresponsible. He is endangering the safety of people he is supposed to be representing,” Murtaugh told the Daily Caller News Foundation.
“No one should be targeted for exercising their First Amendment rights or for their political beliefs. He should delete the tweet, apologize, and his brother’s campaign should disavow it,” Murtaugh continued.

Lindsay Graham foces a Senate Asylum Bill after a 7 week delay orchestrated by the Socialist Progressives (aka Dems)
Daily Caller: In one of the last days leading up the August recess, the Senate
Judiciary Committee got into a heated clash over a controversial asylum
bill. Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Senator Lindsey Graham
from South Carolina, refused to delay the bill any longer, after
accusing Democrats of withholding a vote for 7-weeks.
The bill, known as the Secure and Protect Act, requires that asylum seekers from Central America apply for asylum outside of the United States before applying here. Graham’s bill also extended the time that migrant families must be kept in detention centers from 20 days to 100 days, in order to help avoid immigration fraud.
The bill will ensure that unaccompanied children migrating from Central America be sent back to their home country after a screening, following the procedure for children entering from Canada and Mexico . . . . . “I will no longer allow our asylum laws to be exploited by human traffickers, smugglers and cartels,” said Graham in an official statement. “Cartels, smugglers and human traffickers are profiting off immigrants and helping them take advantage of our broken asylum laws. I will no longer allow the loopholes in our laws to be exploited. I will not aid and abet these horrific practices. My bill fixes these problems.”

I told my readers weeks ago, that Kamala Harris' record as California's A.G. would be problematic. Here is a glimpse of that record:
The department removed public access to a number of reports on incarceration in the state, including when presidential candidate Kamala Harris (D.) was California's attorney general . . . . Until recently, these reports were publicly available at the CDCR's website. A search using archive.org's Wayback Machine reveals that as of April 25, 2019—the most recent indexed date—ODP reports were available dating back to the spring of 2009. As of August 2019, the same web page now serves only a single ODP report, the one for Spring 2019. The pre-2019 reports have been removed.
The changes matter in part because the reports contain information about Harris's entire time as state A.G., 2011 to 2017. Harris has taken fire from multiple opponents for her "tough on crime" record as California's top cop, an image that she has tried to shed as a far-left senator and presidential candidate.
One particularly brutal attack came Wednesday night when Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D., Hi.) laid into Harris for her record on criminal justice. Gabbard cited a Washington Free Beacon analysis — based in part on the ODP reports — that found that more than 1,500 Californians were sent to prison for marijuana-related offenses while Harris was attorney general.
The data have been used in other Free Beacon reporting on Harris, specifically the finding that more than 120,000 black and Latino Californians were sent to prison while she was in the State A.G.'s office.
Here is the total ethic count for gun deaths in Baltimore year to date:
114 Blacks dead by gun-fire this year; zero Asian deaths; 4 whites and 5 Hispanics. Clearly, the crisis is in Black Baltimore and the district represented by Eilijah Cummings.
About those 6 million jobs created by or during the Trump Administration. What would be this number if we did an Obama count . . . . "created and saved."
Of the 6 million jobs created during the Trump Administration, 1 million are black jobs and 2 million are Hispanics . . . . . part of the reason for a 40% Hispanic/Trump approval rating.
If we were still in the Obama B.S. years, the job count would be around 20 million "created or saved" jobs. Understand that the Recovery began during Obama who did nothing to generate jobs except cross his fingers. The Expansion began 24 hours after Trump's Inauguration Ceremony. The steep incline in the Market and the Economy literally began during that first 24 hours after an 800 pt. drop in the Market (during the first 12 hours) . . . . . a fall completely reversed by the end of the first 24 (hours).
Krugman predicted a Market collapse should Trump win the election. Asked when the Market would recover, he said, "Never." Again, with the first 12 hours, it looked as though Krugman was right. The following two and half years (after the first 12 hours) have proven Krugman to be as partisan and unprofessional as one could imagine.
Obama's "recovery" was the slowest in modern history, averaging 1.8% GDP. By contrast, the first two years of Trump, the "expanision" years, have averaged 3% GDP. In fact, the Obama recovery was so slow, that Barack invented the "created or saved" category, a desgination never before used by prognostricators. Turns out that "created or saved" was solid B.S. in the same vein as his claims for ObamaCare.
Since its signing in March of 2010, 30 million folks remain uninsured (ASA was never "universal"), costs have increased by as much as 30% instead of decreasing by $2,500 for a family of four, millions of folks have been forced off their existing policies and into ObamaCare, and deductibles have grown so high ($12,000 for a family of five - my son's policy) that few can afford to use their ObamaCare policies for coverage. And so, after nine years, we are still talking about the health care crisis, a crisis that was supposedly solved by Barack and his genius for dealing with economic/fiscal problems.

A brief overview as to the features of the current two year fiscal spending bill.
The recent financial congressional bill promises leaving Trump's reduction in regualtions in place, no Green Deal, the Hide Amendment is a continuing policy, and a third year of military build-up and reepair. In addition to the above, the following are part of the current bill:

Health Insurance Program for 10 years - Include $80 billion in disaster relief funding

mental health treatment - Put $5.8 billion toward the bipartisan Child Care and Development Block Grant

If Biden is not successful in 2020, the next Democrat candidate will be a flaming Socialist and Barack Obama will be a distant but fond memory.
MSNBC "Morning Joe" anchor Joe Scarborough
on Wednesday night slammed 2020 Democratic presidential candidates,
saying they were spending more time attacking former President Obama's
policies than President Trump during the second round of primary debates.
"These candidates are attacking Barack Obama’s policy positions more than Donald Trump," Scarborough, a former GOP congressman who left the Republican Party to become an independent, said on Twitter. "That is politically stupid and crazy."
The comments from Scarborough, a frequent Trump critic, came as a cadre of Democratic presidential candidates targeted policies that former Vice President Joe Biden helped oversee during the Obama administration.

The Hill under-counts Senate judicial appointments. Correct count is 125 (or is it 145) plus the 13 confirmations and the additional 6 judges soon to be confirmed.
The Hill reports:
Senate confirms 13 Trump judges ahead of August break
The Senate confirmed 13 ofPresident Trump’s judicial picks this week, helping clear the deck ahead of the five-week August recess.
The nominees were split up throughout the week with four confirmation votes taking place on Tuesday and nine on Wednesday, three of which were by voice votes.
“For too long fairly uncontroversial judicial nominees just like these have been held up and delayed by our Democratic colleagues even when the vacancy qualifies as a judicial emergency. Uncontroversial district judges used to be confirmed promptly in big groups by voice vote,” Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said from the Senate floor ahead of the votes on Wednesday.
Republicans have placed a premium on confirming Trump’s judicial picks, arguing that they are the best shot at having a long-term impact on the direction of the country. Republicans have confirmed more than 100 court picks for Trump since 2017, including two Supreme Court justices and a record number of appeals court judges.
The confirmation of 13 nominees is down from the 19 judges Senate Republicans had planned toconfirm before leaving Washington until September. The other judges are expected to get a vote once the Senate returns in September.
