My comment may be so subtle as to drive you to the next post, almost immediately. I don't know. But, on the theory that my reaction to just about anything is typical to a huge population in this country, I give you this commentary.
I was emotionally moved by the singing of the National Anthem by Lady Gaga. Never paid much attention to the woman. Didn't have a good opinion of her for no good reason. Seriously. And then she sang that song. I don't really remember the venue . . . . the Super Bowl, I believe. Anyway, the Anthem is one of my favorite songs and brings me to near-tears virtually every time I heard its words. Her performance with that song was as good as it gets; at least, that was my opinion. Turns out, all of my friends were as moved as I was. I could give example after example of the point that my reaction is often reflected in the lives of others.
Having said all of the above, I must tell you I just spent 30 minutes comparing CNN and FoxNews and their morning news casts. Fox was busy talking about the latest blockbuster news about the Clinton corruption issue, documenting the civil war that is building within our Justice Department including the FBI. Very interesting . . . . . . . facts and news are always interesting to me. That was Fox.
At the same time, CNN was busy ignoring the report that tells the folks the Clinton Foundation has been under intense investigation for more than a year, that the Foundation probe has been given the "highest priority" by the FBI. Many within the FBI believe that public corruption laws have been violated and indictments may be forthcoming. Rather than report this news, Chris Cuomo spent the morning making a big deal of Trump "talking to himself," on stage, before an "open mic," saying, "Stay on message Donald. Don't get off message, Donald." In fact, Cuomo framed this as Donald getting caught on a hot mic, talking to himself. Cuomo spent the entire morning hammering this hot lede story of his. Pure nonsense and boring as hell.
The truth is this: Donald was on the campaign stage, letting the audience of thousands, in on the advice given to him by his advisors. He was having fun with this. The mic was not "hot" in the typical sense of that word. Indeed, it was turned on, but he was standing at that mic, and beginning with a speech to the waiting crowd. Cuomo's point, and he camped on this point all morning, was that Trump is so undisciplined as a speaker, that he has reduced to talking to himself about the need "not be himself."
My point: Are we looking at the finale messaging of the Left? That Trump was talking to himself? Seriously. I turned the channel because of boredom. Cuomo had nothing to say . . . . at least that is how I feel. And I think such is the feeling of thousands of others watching. I loved Gaga's version of the Anthem; millions of others agreed. I found CNN boring . . . . and I am certain that millions of others have the same opinion.
At a time when CNN and other pro-Clinton networks need to hold their audiences, they are losing them to sheer boredom. And I think this hurts Hillary at a time when she can use all the effective help she can command.
