ABC News commentary: Donald Trump says he'll jail opponent Hillary Clinton if he wins the presidency. The Republican presidential nominee made the threat — an unprecedented
break with U.S. political decorum — in the middle of the second
presidential debate, held Sunday in St. Louis. It came as the Democratic nominee said it is "awfully good that someone
with the temperament of Donald Trump is not in charge of the law in our
country."
Trump blasted back, "Because you'd be in jail."
[My] Editorial response (not that I can improve on Trump's hilarious and effective response):
US political decorum was violated the moment Barack Obama held his first presidential interview (via phone) with a Middle East Muslim news organization affiliated with Al Qaeda or the presidential reversal of his predecessor's established policy such as his unilateral cancellation of the Bush treatise with Poland and the Czech Republic, a missile defense agreement that would have protected those two nations from any potential nuclear aggression coming from Russia or Iran . . . . an established treatise that was violated against the expressed will of those two nations, btw. Talking about political decorum, let's not forget his decision to return the Churchill bust against the will of English expressed diplomatic desire, the escorting of the Dalai Lama out the back door of the WH, past the waiting garbage dump from the kitchen (I have a picture), because of a concern for the contrary opinions of China, or, his disgraceful intervention in the most recent Israeli elections, an effort committed to the defeat of Netanyahu as Prime Minister or his refusal to have meaningful dialogue with opposition party leaders during his first two years.
