Senator Marco Rubio said he would support Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump if he secures the party’s nomination.
“I’ve always said I’m going to support the Republican nominee,”
former candidate Rubio said, speaking on WIOD radio’s Jimmy Cefalo show.
“And that’s especially true now that it is apparent that Hillary
Clinton is going to be the Democratic candidate.”
Trump’s victory in New York earlier this week seemed to send a clear
message from Republican voters about their nominee choice. The GOP
front-runner now has more delegates than rivals Sen. Ted Cruz and Ohio
Governor John Kasich combined.
“My differences with Donald Trump are well-documented,” Rubio said.
“I’m not saying he’s going to be the nominee, we don’t know that yet –
he’s certainly the leader in the delegate count.”
It seems Rubio may be changing his tune on Trump as he sees the
upcoming battle against Democratic front-runner Clinton. “Hillary
Clinton would be a disaster for America,” he said.
