Why gun registration requirements will not solve the problem of gun violence:

1.  There were 33,000 gun deaths in the recent year.

2.  A whopping 60% of these deaths were suicides.

3.  Another 2,300/2,500 were accidental shootings.

4.  More than 9,000 of these deaths were at the hands of gangbangers.  There are more than 800,000 gangbangers in the United States.  Virtually all carry a firearm.  Virtually all are felons.   Virtually all gun possessions are illegal by anyone's standards.  Virtually all should be in prison on some island nearly Antarctica.

When you add up the above totals,  we can account for a little over 32,000 shootings.  This last category and remaining 1,000 deaths,  include school shootings,  assassinations, domestic murders and cop shootings.

While I am not opposed to gun registration  (I live in the heavily regulated Commie State of California and legally own four guns with 700 rounds of ammo on hand) ,  it is difficult to see how gun registration would change any of the above stats,  to a serious degree.
