Here is why the reporting of significant political circumstance is neither prolific or as titillating as in the past:

When Obama walked into the White House,  his mind set was to become the nation's most prolific, totalitarian ruler,  rather than a president of all the people.  In his first two years,  he spent no more than 40 minutes, total,  meeting with GOP leadership in two meetings.  He weaponized the IRS with the charge to pursue an isolation policy against some 360 conservative groups.   He considered federal prosecution of those who publicly opposed his agenda and mounted the most severe legal campaign against "whistleblowers" from within any Administration in American history.  He spied on the media,  including many of those who,  traditionally,  support his views.  His hatred of Israel is more than obvious.  His praise and defense of Islam is without debate.  His opposition to Christianity as the "White man's religion" is as distressing as his pretense to have been a supporter of the historic definition for marriage. Finally,  for the sake of this post,  Obama's capitulation to the terror state,  Iran, is full and complete and soon to be finalized with the monstrosity many are calling "the Iran nuke deal."

Having said all this,  Obama has accomplished next to nothing since July of 2010 (five years ago) and the signing of the Dodd/Frank banking bill.  And,  now with the election season about to go viral,  there is nothing of significance that merits reporting.

"Lame duck" is not as close a description of Obama as is the wording,  "Dead duck."  And that is why there is so little "commentating going on, here."     Five years ago, he sucked all the air out of a news room,  Today,  if he is two headlines for the day,  that is an exceptional day.
