Menendez targeted for being disloyal to Der Leader. But, in the end, this revenge strategy of Obama's may prove to be for the ultimate good of the GOP, in the coming 2016 election cycle.

Menendez charges put Iran legislation in doubt
The Foreign Relations Committee is set to vote April 14 on a bill he co-authored.

Editor's notes:  Can you imagine this:  the most corrupt Attorney General since the Nixon days,  letting Lois Lerner off the hook for her demonstrable corruption,  while going after Robert Menendez who is guilty of doing nothing that is not mainstream Democrat party politics,  per Barack Obaama and so many others.

Understand that Menendez is the ranking Democrat on the Senate's Foreign Relations Committee and has been the most outspoken critic within his party,  of the Iranian "deal" Obama and John Kerry are trying to finalize.  Knowing that Obama is as ruthless and vengeful a party leader as we have ever had,  it is clear to those of us who fully understand the antics of this backstabbing Pontiff in our White House,  that Obama is using the DOJ to (a) get even with the Senator from New Jersey, and, (b) to defeat the April 14 committee vote, sponsored by Menendez,  that would require Senate approval of any Iranian treaty.

It is a fact that Menendez has been under threat of indictment for three years.  Yes,  this legal action could have been leveled against the Senator as far back as late 2011.  But the Administration waited,  hoping to use the indictment at a time,  when it would best serve its purposes    . . . . .  . . .  and "now" is the time.

As is the case with all of Obama's backstabbing strategies,  this action,  if successful,  will also open the Menendez Senate seat to a healthy GOP challenge.  The Dems already have an unexpected Senate problem with the retirement of Harry Reid.  If Menendez is taken down before the 2016 election,  the likelihood of the Dems retaking the Senate will be greatly reduced.  They already have to win 5 Senate seats in the 2016 election cycle, in order to recapture the Senate.   With Reid and Menendez,  that would make a 7 seat net gain,  the demand for Senate Democrats   . . . .   not impossible but,  also,  not probable.

In the end,  if the choice is between Menendez being indicted by his own kind or the GOP keeping the Senate,  most of us will choose the later.  Too bad for Menendez,  but we offer a hardy  "Thanks Obama" to the man who thinks he invented party politics.

From The Hill"  . . . .    the indictment could threaten support for an Iran bill that Menendez spearheaded. The legislation, which the committee is expected to vote on April 14, would allow Congress to weigh in on any deal on Iran's nuclear program.

It's unclear when Menendez and his staff found out the senator had been indicted. After the news broke, Tricia Enright, the senator's communications director, tweeted that 'neither Menendez nor his legal team have been informed of any action by the grand jury or DOJ.'  "
