Mission Statement: This blog reviews the news of the day in light of 242 years of American history. "Nationalism," a modern day pejorative, has been our country's politic throughout history, until 2008. Obama changed that narrative. Trump is seeking a return to our historical roots. Midknight Review supports this return to normality.
The secret to understanding Obama, and comes from his own words, in his fairytale relationship between he and his father.
“On September 11, 2001 . . . . . history returned with a vengeance; in fact, as Faulkner reminds us, the past is never dead and buried — it isn’t even past.
This collective history, this past, directly touches my own, not merely because, as a consequence of 9/11, my name is an irresistible target of mocking websites from overzealous Republican operatives. But also because the underlying struggle between worlds of plenty and worlds of want…is the struggle set forth, on a miniature scale, in this book . . . . which at its core is an indictment against Western imperialism, racism and colonialism. (Dreams of my Father, 1995, preface remarks edited after 2004, by H Obama).
Editor’s notes: While Obama is forced to admit to the goodness of this country, at some level, his prevailing opinion of the United States is one of indictment as represented in the angry black rhetoric of Louis Farrakhan and, to a far greater extent, Jeremiah Wright.
It includes an impassioned anti-Semitic stance, a full-on disdain for the Founders of this country (slave traders and imperial colonialist, all), and a belief that the poor of this world, are victims (which they are, imo), and, as such, mirror the poor of the United States (which is an untrue parallel). He is anti-religious except on occasion when he wants to identify with “believers of all faiths, the world over,” and, because he is a committed sectarian, he is opposed to the use of conscience for the justification of any [Christian] point of view, ala Karl Marx. Instead, he believes that Christianity, especially, needs to be driven from the domestic debate, and replaced with his will and feigned wisdom in such matters . . . . . as arrogant a position as anything found in the murderous beginnings of Islam, or the truly imperialist pursuits of Hitler or Stalin or Karl Marxist.
Point of Post? The reader should copy Obama’s words, presented above, and refer to them before listening to any of his speeches. If you fail in this assignment, you will miss the context of all that he believes is true, whether a particular speech or comment proves the point. Know this, he is willing to say anything to get “the job done,” as we know by looking back at the outrageous lies told to us during the “ObamaCare debate,” or the idiotic commentary being pursued in defense of his anti-Israel, pro-Iranian “mediation.”
