U.S. employers in the private sector, added 288,000 jobs, in February. "governments" (local, state and Central Planning) added another 7,000. All this while the number of forgotten Americans, no longer drawing unemployment benefits, nor, are looking for taxpaying work, grew to its largest number in nearly 40 years with 178,000 folks officially leaving the able bodied and willing to work, force. It is the "non-participation rate" that ruins all "rosie" summaries of Obama's six year "recovery." He and his minions want us to forget that he does not count those who want work but have given up. In his mind, this "Man of the Middle Class" does not care about these folks, and pretends that we can have an economic recovery when few people are working today, than at this time last year, or at anytime since he became Whatever He Thinks He Is.
When the number of people who want to work but have given up, matches the number of jobs he "created," well, that pretty much works out to "zero," doesn't it.
More than this, wages have trucked along at a 2% increase for the past six years. Think about that, if you made 20,000 dollars, two years ago, your wages have increased by 8 cents, not nearly enough to make up for the increases in energy Obama's policies have created, or, the rising cost of food because of transportation costs, or, the cost of meat (nearly tripling since Obama) because of his environmental dictates, or the cost of new cars because of those same environmental regulations.
And don't blame "slow growth" on the weather. Economists tell us that this winter's record cold and snow-fall, have little to do with the economic/jobs failures of the Obama Administartion (see the WSJ, here).
Sadly, and this point is seldom made, job growth has been in retail, health-care (adding to the cost of Obama's healthcare fiasco), professional services (H & R Block and etc.) and the leisure/hospitality industry.
While government job growth has increased, this blog does not count that number in any "jobs recovery" summary. A growing government takes money out of the economy, it does not add to the economy, regardless as to how Nancy Pelosi, the non-practicing Catholic that she is, counts a growing economy. I mean, the woman believes that if we grow unemployment benefits, we are growing the economy, as if the sum of all benefits more than pays for those benefit payouts. Can you believe that ?! Dems who think like Pelosi, actually believe we are growing the economy BY growing unemployment. And, the world's depots love America, and human rights don't matter if your country is a member of the UN, and we need to fight terror by given money to Dubai, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait. Yeah, THAT's what the world needs, money to be given to the world's oil barrons. Good grief. And some of you keep voting for these people.
Anyway, I have been gone for three days and nothing in the world of Utopian Fantasies has changed.
Good to be back.
