Why I cannot endorse Rand Paul for president, other than his dad is Ron Paul, that is.

NBC News:
Rand Paul: Vaccines Can Lead to ‘Mental Disorders’  —  Republican Sen. Rand Paul is standing by his statement that most vaccinations should be “voluntary,” telling CNBC that a parent's choice not to vac...

Editor's notes:  I really have nothing earthshaking to say about Rand Paul.  He has proven himself more than willing to stand up to the Establishment (anyone remember his filibuster?) and actually get things done.  But if such things merited him becoming President,  the presidency would be a "reward,"  in his case,  not a office for which he is especially qualified.

The problem with Rand,  is two fold:  One:    sometimes he gets a little (not a lot) weird,  per the above headlined example.  I mean,  "Yes" he is a doctor,  and probably smart as a whip,  but there are many medical professionals who think his claim to mental illness as described in the NBC storyline,  is not a provable consideration.  In other words,  it is fantasy.

Two: his foreign policy lends itself to pacifism as to national defense, and isolationalism.  To be fair,  I must hasten to emphasize that Rand has defended himself,  against these concerns,  and has done a convincing job   . . . .    but,  after years of Clinton, Bush and Obama telling us what we want to hear  (Clinton and Bush) or  doing whatever he wants to do, over our objections (Obama),  my trust in Central Government is exhausted.  Except to keep us free, I really am opposed to the Federal Government.

Clearly, the federal government is far to large to organize itself in a productive way.  It has no clue how to save money nor does it ever feel the need to work against waste and mismanagement  (you do know you cannot fire a federal employee, right?).

As a business owner for more than three decades,  I saw businesses come and go,  most of the time because the owner's lost control of their companies as they grew in size.  Obviously,   there are those who are gifted with management skills,  but when was the last time you saw any of that exemplified in Congress?
Look,  when a business has to borrow 45% of what it needs,  each and every month,  to pay its bills,  and is so indentured to others and its own agenda that it cannot stop with debt increases,  it is a failed business just waiting for collapse.  Such is the case with Central "Planning."

Perhaps Rand Paul would do a better job than most,  and I would vote for him if he made it through the GOP primary process,  but it is my thinking that this country needs someone as president,  who actually knows how to run a government.  Hillary would be another ideologue,  with no core belief's  (disagree?  tell me,  then,  what does she stand for   . . . . .   I seriously do not have a clue?) and absolutely no real world,  corporate experience.    And Obama is as much a child playing with his favorite toy,  the U.S. of A.,  as anyone we have read about in those bedtime stories we share with our young children.

At any rate,  Rand Paul is intelligent,  willing to take a stand,  and fairly conservative. It would not be the end of the world,  but,  I do believe there are better choices, for this day and time   . . . . .  and,  he is a little  (not a lot) weird when it comes to this vaccination thingy.
