A 2012 list of Obama's accomplishments reviewed using 2015 realities.

March/ April 2012

By Paul Glastris, Ryan Cooper, and Siyu Hu
1. Passed Health Care . It will cover 32 million uninsured Americans beginning in 2014.
Editor:  ObamaCare will leave 30 to 40 million uninsured,  but a different collective than those living in 2010.  Still,  it is not "universal" healthcare.  Obama lied about "you can keep your doctor, period,"  "you can keep your hospital, period," "it is not a tax" (yet,  he put the IRS in charge precisely because it was a tax,  and defended the reform bill at the High Court,  as a tax).  He told us premiums would go down $2500 for a family of four  . .   that never happened.
2. Passed the Stimulus: Signed $787 billion American Recovery and Reinvestment Act in 2009 to spur economic growth amid greatest recession since the Great Depression. Weeks after stimulus went into effect, unemployment claims began to subside. . . . . .
Editor: ridiculous lie.  At the signing of the Stimulus,  less than 30 days after taking office,  Obama promised that unemployment would not rise above 8%.  It topped out at 10%.
3. Passed Wall Street Reform: Signed the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (2010) to re-regulate the financial sector after its practices caused the Great Recession.

Editor:  "Affordable Housing" policies and related sub-prime rate lending to the poor,  was that which caused the 2008 collapse  . . . . . . . .   period.
4. Ended the War in Iraq: Ordered all U.S. military forces out of the country. Last troops left on December 18, 2011.

Editor:  as a result,  the Middle East is, now,  in flames and that is all on Obama.  Understand that Obama did not end the war,  he just moved out of Iraq,  created a vacuum that was filled by al Qaeda,  a terrorist group he pretended to have eradicated,  before the 2012 elections.
5. Began Drawdown of War in Afghanistan: From a peak of 101,000 troops in June 2011, U.S. forces are now down to 91,000, with 23,000 slated to leave by the end of summer 2012.

Editor:  kind of silly,  no?  I mean,  the Afghan War was Obama's war.  And,  within six months of leaving,  that country will fall into the hands of the Taliban,  proving that war to be a disgraceful waste of human life.  It is because of this war,  in part,  that Obama has an approval rating of 15% within the military.
6. Eliminated Osama bin laden: In 2011, ordered special forces raid of secret compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan, in which the terrorist leader was killed and a trove of al-Qaeda documents was discovered.

Editor:  Osama was no longer the head of anything,  had been in hiding for nearly a decade,  and no actionable intel was taken from the site.  Since his death,  al Qaeda/ISIS has grown by 4x  and,  combined jihadist terror has grown by 10x.  In other words,  bin Laden's death meant nothing,  in the larger scheme of things.
7. Turned Around U.S. Auto Industry: In 2009, injected $62 billion in federal money (on top of $13.4 billion in loans from the Bush administration) into ailing GM and Chrysler in return for equity stakes and agreements for massive restructuring. Since bottoming out in 2009, the auto industry has added more than 100,000 jobs. In 2011, the Big Three automakers all gained market share for the first time in two decades. The government expects to lose $16 billion of its investment, less if the price of the GM stock it still owns increases.

Editor:  Obama destroyed the retirement funds of several police and teacher unions who were protected bond holders in GM and Chrysler.  Chrysler failed and was sold to Fiat.  GM stock had to be sold at a lose of 1.5 billion dollars to the taxpayers,  and Ford,  Kia, Honda, Toyoda, Lexus, made it without any help from the feds.
8. Recapitalized Banks: In the midst of financial crisis, approved controversial Treasury Department plan to lure private capital into the country’s largest banks via “stress tests” of their balance sheets and a public-private fund to buy their “toxic” assets. Got banks back on their feet at essentially zero cost to the government.

Editor:  he and Elizabeth Warren helped hide the transfer of more than 7 trillion dollars, via TARP legislation.  Where the money came from and to whom it actually went to is unknown,  for the most part.
9. Repealed “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell”: Ended 1990s-era restriction and formalized new policy allowing gays and lesbians to serve openly in the military for the first time.

Editor:  Big deal.
10. Toppled Moammar Gaddafi: In March 2011, joined a coalition of European and Arab governments in military action, including air power and naval blockade, against Gaddafi regime to defend Libyan civilians and support rebel troops. Gaddafi’s forty-two-year rule ended when the dictator was overthrown and killed by rebels on October 20, 2011. No American lives were lost.

Editor:  he backstabbed Gaddafi and,  in the end,  destabilized that country to the point that it is now in the hands of al Qaeda.  No Americans were lost?  Benghazi is the lie being told,  here.
11. Told Mubarak to Go: On February 1, 2011, publicly called on Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak to accept reform or step down, thus weakening the dictator’s position and putting America on the right side of the Arab Spring. Mubarak ended thirty-year rule when overthrown on February 11.

Editor:  Another leader Obama backstabbed.  In his place,  he tried to install the Muslim Brotherhood,  a known terrorist group condemned by most Arab nations in the Middle East.  Obama with drew financial aid to Egypt after the Brotherhood was taken down by the secular Egyptian military.
12. Reversed Bush Torture Policies: Two days after taking office, nullified Bush-era rulings that had allowed detainees in U.S. custody to undergo certain “enhanced” interrogation techniques considered inhumane under the Geneva Conventions. Also released the secret Bush legal rulings supporting the use of these techniques.

Editor:  Bush stopped waterboarding in 2005,  years before Obama came along.  Today,  we have no interrogation policy whatsoever  . . .  we simply do not capture and interrogate.  We know less about Islamic terror than we did in 2000,  before 9/11.
13. Improved America’s Image Abroad:

Editor:  a preposterous statement.  People who believe this are among the most misinformed of all voters.
14. Kicked Banks Out of Federal Student Loan Program, Expanded Pell Grant Spending:

Editor:  none of this brought relief to the college crowd.  This is why his approval numbers have declined by 35% ,  since mid-2010.
15. Created Race to the Top: With funds from stimulus, started $4.35 billion program of competitive grants to encourage and reward states for education reform.

Editor:  4.5 billion to be divided by 50 states.  And,  in in the end,  after six years, there is no concrete evidence that this program has done anything substantial,  except to work against charter schools,  many of them located in low income districts.
16. Boosted Fuel Efficiency Standards: Released new fuel efficiency standards in 2011 that will nearly double the fuel economy for cars and trucks by 2025.

Editor:  A benefit without an noticeable reality.
17. Coordinated International Response to Financial Crisis: To keep world economy out of recession in 2009 and 2010, helped secure from G-20 nations more than $500 billion for the IMF.

Editor:  And in the end,  Europe is still "on the brink,  and our country chugs along at a 2.4 GDP rate.
18. Passed Mini Stimuli: To help families hurt by the recession and spur the economy as stimulus spending declined, signed series of measures (July 22, 2010; December 17, 2010; December 23, 2011) to extend unemployment insurance and cut payroll taxes.

Editor:  neither stimulus worked to kick-start the economy.  That was not their point.  3/4 of all stimulus dollars went to unions and Democrat controlled districts.   No more than 6,000 permanent jobs were created because of stimulus money.
19. Began Asia “Pivot”
Editor:  nothing of consequence has resulted in this "pivot" except to turn our attention away from a Middle East in flames because of Obama's neglect.
20. Increased Support for Veterans: With so many soldiers coming home from Iraq and Iran with serious physical and mental health problems, yet facing long waits for services, increased 2010 Department of Veterans Affairs budget by 16 percent and 2011 budget by 10 percent. Also signed new GI bill offering $78 billion in tuition assistance over a decade, and provided multiple tax credits to encourage businesses to hire veterans.

Editor:  Cool.
21. Tightened Sanctions on Iran:
Editor:  completely meaningless.  It is because of Obama,  that Iran is just three months  away from a nuclear bomb at any time in the future.  Because of Obama,  Iran is allowed to have a nuclear circumstance that,  should they want to build a bomb,  they are only three months out.  Obama's virtually condemned Israel with his anti-Semitic hatred for Israel,  and Iran is living proof.
22. Created Conditions to Begin Closing Dirtiest Power Plants:
Editor:  Obama is breaking the backs of the Middle Class working poor.  His "saving the world" garbage,  is forcing the working poor in the North East to choose between food and heat,  in the winter.
23. Passed Credit Card Reforms:
Editor:  a waste of time.  No is benefited by this effort.
24. Eliminated Catch-22 in Pay Equality Laws: Signed Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act in 2009, giving women who are paid less than men for the same work the right to sue their employers after they find out about the discrimination, even if that discrimination happened years ago.

Editor:  and,  still,  Leftist Utopians continue to work for equal pay   . . . . .  something they claimed they had done in 2009.
25. Protected Two Liberal Seats on the U.S. Supreme Court
Editor:  good grief,  this is something that would have happened without Obama.
26. Improved Food Safety System:
Editor:  nonsense.  The public only knows that these regulations have raised the price of food,  significantly,  since Obama has been in office.  That is what regulations do  --  cost the consumer more and more and more.
27. Achieved New START Treaty
Editor:  he backstabbed the Chec Republic and Poland, in writing this failed treatise,  and,  in the end,  Russia is running rough-shod over that part of the world.
