Believe it or not, but there are plenty of hard-Right blogs, out there, that put this blog "to shame," or try to. This video discussion has been seen (by some on the Right) as an attack on the Evangelicals, an effort by liberal media to equate the Evangelical Right with the jihadist who killed 17 French citizens in France, last week.
I read the headlines, then listened to this video excerpt. I was not insulted. Of course we Evangelicals would object to comments and slander coming from the liberal Left. We would be equally insulted, as are many in the Muslim community, for attacks on our faith. However, we would not go on a killing spree, nor would we call for the end of free speech, but no one in this video is making that accusation.
Point of this post? Look, we do not do the conservative cause any favors by getting bent out of shape over imagined insults. The debate has gotten out of hand, over the past several years, and, this blog, has contributed to the national angst. I am rethinking my writing style . . . . not my politics. I am very angry with Obama, but that does not need to be broadened to an overall anger for all on the Left. You do know that big-government libs and those who believe in states rights, have been with us from the very beginning of this nation, right. I mean, that has been (and is) the defining reality in the American political debate. This every discussion, is at the heart of nearly all election cycles. I have to admit, I have lost my sense of humor over all this crap that is going on, in Washington. I need to recover that, and, beginning today, I will try to push my views and objections without the nastiness that I have used, so often in the past.
