In an
article headlined: President who vowed
to end war, now seeks sweeping power to expand it, we have the following Left
Wing nonsense:
From TheHill - Secretary of State John F. Kerry told Congress Tuesday
that President Obama wants expansive war powers to pursue the Islamic State
terrorists wherever and however he deems necessary, stunning lawmakers by
requesting a war authorization that would even allow the Pentagon to commit
American combat troops to the fight.
Though
Mr. Obama doesn’t want combat troops, he won’t have Congress tie his
hands against unforeseen directions the war could take should the Islamic State
evolve, expand its fight to other countries or prove more difficult to rout, Mr.
Kerry said.
Editor’s notes: what this ridiculous article does not state
is the fact that Obama does not need Congressional approval for anything he
does. His actions as a self-centered power
broker (aka “President of the United
States ”) is living proof of this
reality. And why would Congress trust a
Commander in Chief who has no clue how to wage war, does not care about the men and women he
commands, and places “raising money” and
party politics above his function as “president?”
This
article, also, pretends that the 4,000
troops, now, in Iraq and the several thousand more in Afghanistan are
not “combat troops.” And the
phrase, “he won’t have Congress tie his
hands” has unlimited meaning, don't you know. The Hill
and Obama’s presidency, when viewed from
“the peoples” perspective, is a very
poorly crafted joke, but the Left
continues to believe that the rest of us are unaware.
Me? I say, "Give him nothing." He takes it, anyway, and cannot be trust to keep his word long enough to move away from his Grand Stand.
