McCain tries to remain relevant, not knowing the GOP has moved on, and the battle for the US Military rages on with the appointment of Obama's fourth Secretary of Defense.

Editor's review:  The Daily Signal is a publication out of Heritage Foundation and is a recent addition to what Heritage is doing in the fight against Marxist driven, One World,  Utopianism.

McCain is one of the Right's more feckless conservative impostors;  a disgusting man who has not yet figured out that he speaks only to Lindsey Graham and Sean Hannity.  McCain,  in this article,  is [only] exposing the obvious,  that Obama cares nothing for the opinion or well-being of the military.  Gates, Panetta and Hagel,  have all left the Administration's Secretary of Defense office,  in disgust,  deeply concerned with what Obama is and is not doing to the military in pursuit of his worthless foreign policy strategies.  Ashton Carter has been chosen as Obama's next Secretary of Defense,  after several other unnamed choices refused.  All reports frame Carter as an excellent choice.

For what it is worth,  Midknight Review supports his nomination.  At the announcement of this nominee,  Carter looked the camera's in the eye,  and promised to be faithful to military concerns.  M.R. saw this as a clear statement that he would carry on the same concerns and interests as those of his three predecessors.  Good for him.  It is about time that military minded folks,  push back against Obama.  His battlefield policies have lost three wars  (Bush's Iraqi victory,  Afghanistan and the new war against ISIS), not to mention his rules of engagement,  which have cost hundreds of American soldiers lives.

Daily Signal report:  President Obama’s nominee for secretary of defense will need to penetrate the White House’s tight inner circle of national security and foreign policy advisers to influence the president’s decision-making, Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., said yesterday.

In an interview with The Daily Signal within hours of Ashton Carter’s nomination, McCain said he isn’t convinced the veteran Pentagon hand and former deputy secretary can make such inroads despite the early support of Republicans and Democrats alike.

Obama nominated Carter as successor to Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel, who lost the confidence of the president before announcing last month that he would step down just shy of two years in the post. Hagel is the third defense secretary in Obama’s six years in office.

If confirmed by the Senate, Carter will take over at the Pentagon as the United States presses the war against ISIS, the brutal terrorist organization also known as the Islamic State. Although Obama staunchly opposes more American boots on the ground in Iraq, there will be, McCain said, drawing a comparison to Vietnam War-era Defense Secretary Robert McNamara.
The Arizona Republican, interviewed by The Daily Signal after speaking about the Jones Act at The Heritage Foundation, is slated to become chairman of the Armed Services Committee when the GOP takes over the Senate in January.  He will preside over Carter’s confirmation hearing.
