From the Editor: Weasel Zippers has blocked my participation in their comment line. Some thoughts about this moronic bit of hypocrisy.

I have used Weasel Zippers as a source for information or subject matter,  on this blog,  for a number of years, never taking time, until lately,  to comment or read the comments  . . . . . .   busy working on the news.

That changed this past week,  when I came across a headline,  posted by the owner of Weasel Zippers,  a headline that accused Lindsey Graham of being a homosexual.  Whether that is true or not,  the fact of the matter is this:  such a comment about one of our own,  wayward as he might be,  is more than "out of line,"  it is ignorant and childish and a rejection of Reagan's "11th commandment."

As a result,  I made comment,  and the response from the One Toothers on that blog was a little surprising,  but somewhat expected,  at the same time.  That particular class of right wingers nailed me to the cross and had their fun.  Of course,  I am as red-neck as any of those clowns so I responded but without getting downright filthy.   They couldn't deal with the debate,  and the owner of that blog cut me off from future comments.  He did so simply because I disagreed,  proving him to be as ignorant as the little club members he encourages,  for the sake of inflated ratings.

What bothers me about this is the fact that we have people on our side of the aisle who are just as ignorant of Constitutional values as those radicals on the Left who are working to limit our free speech.

While I have rules as to my "comment line,"  I have never cut someone off from participation.  The reader will note that comments,  here on this blog,  have a moniker of "substance,"  a phrase the Zippers crowd would not understand.  Here is what you find on Zippers comment line:  "F*** you, you fagot Lefty,"  "Why don't you suck my ****,"  and the like.  You get the picture  AND you see none of that on this blog,  and I get plenty of such trash,  all of it deleted.

Understand that Zippers is proud of the number of hits coming to its blog,  but that show of success is precisely because the owner encourages the kind of smut he pretends to hate in the Left.  While he has 4,000 hits in a day,  the number of Ignorants who actually visit the blog,  the number of different or individual readers,  is somewhere in the low hundreds.  The hit total is about filth and trash talking,  and it is allowed so the owner can sell advertisement.
Like me or not,  I manage and publish this blog as a free educational service to the readership and I spend 10/12 hours a day,  doing so.  Reagan is honored, here,  something that is not the case at Weasel Zippers.

I will continue to demand substantive debate without filthy name calling and discourage or delete those one line comments that add nothing to the narrative by folks who spend too much time in their bathrooms,  alone, pretending they represent the greater interests of this nation   . . . . . .   empty headed,  tough talking punks,  all.
