Yes ... appropriate people from the top 10 on each side:
ReplyDeleteRush Limbaugh - college drop out, recovered drug addict
Glen Beck - college drop out, drug user
Sean Hannity - college drop out
Mike Huckabee - Seminary drop out, Bachelors in Religion
Rachael Maddow - PhD - Oxford, Rhodes Scholar
Paul Krugman - PhD - MIT, Yale, Nobel Laureate Economics
Thomas Friedman - Oxford, Stanford, London School of Economics, 3 Pulitzer Prizes
Your point? Let's not forget that your president is a drug user and coke head. Remember the caveat about throwing stones from glass houses. Beck, Hannity and Limbaugh are perfect examples of middle class citizens making an impression on society. Maddow, Krugman and Friedman are all academics. Maddow's PhD is in Philosophy, a rather useless degree that sets her apart from no one. But, be that as it might be. My point concerns the impact of Middle America on the politics of the day. Like I said, the Lefties have no such parallel to what Joshua Pundit offers.
DeleteAnd while you major in making fun of my side of the aisle, you have Maxine Waters, Major Owens, Ed Shultz, Nancy Pelosi and near bottom of her class 4 year degree in political science, Joe Biden who plagiarized as many as 15 papers on his way to a BA degree, finishing 505 out of a class of 630.
Mr. genius - all PhD's are Doctorates of Philosophy, the is what the abbreviation means. (duh)
DeleteAll PhDs usually have a specific discipline, Rachael Maddow's PhD happens to be in Political Science.
You really are a jerk. There IS a discipline in PhD offerings that is "philosophy" (http://education-portal.com/articles/How_Long_Does_It_Take_To_Get_a_PhD_in_Philosophy.html). Many theologians have degrees in "philosophy" as opposed to "theology," which is the comparative study of . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . ah . . . . . . . . . . . . . philosophies and their authors. I studied "philosophy" as a course offering that was different from political science, religion, etc.
DeleteWhether "political science" (an oxymoron in my book) or "philosophy," per se, the degree is rather useless except to qualify one to teach, except to qualify one as being an academic and that was my point: the woman is an academic, a political theorist, having studied the history of politics over the ages. In fact, her work at Stanford and Oxford is all theoretical "science."
BTW, Oxford has a PhD offering in "philosophy" ("PPE" but a "PhD," nonetheless).
