The midterm elections and Labor Day: how are the two related?

According to the Democrat pundits I have read,  predictive numbers on Labor Day,  consistently predict the elections that follow two months later.

The generic ballot (party versus party without specific candidates)  numbers ran 46 to 42 in favor of the GOP on Labor Day,  this year.  Understand that this same generic polling was tied,  on Labor Day in 2010,  and eight weeks later,  we had a historic wave election that gave us 28 state houses,  700 local positions flipped to the GOP,  and the House became the home of the Conservative nation.

Without getting into specifics,  the coming elections look good for a GOP Senate and an expanded GOP House.   Of course,  anything could happen.  But, more beheadings and and any bad news this coming 9/11 could end all hope for the Marxist Progressives.
