Mission Statement: This blog reviews the news of the day in light of 242 years of American history. "Nationalism," a modern day pejorative, has been our country's politic throughout history, until 2008. Obama changed that narrative. Trump is seeking a return to our historical roots. Midknight Review supports this return to normality.
Obama, who once bragged, "America is not a Christian nation," has run-away approval with American Muslims, the convoluted Jewish lobby, non--Christian and atheist populations . . . . you know, those who think our Founders were traitors to the Utopian Dream.
Obama is strong in every segment of the population that is growing ... except Mormons.
"As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion" - 1797 Treaty unanimously ratified by the Senate with John Adams signature on 10 June, 1797. The Founding Fathers passed this without the slightest objection. This treaty represents U.S. law, as all U.S. Treaties do (see the Constitution, Article VI, Sect.2)
Obama is in good company - with the Founding Fathers of the USA.
Anonymous ignores the cited poll, above when he writes: Obama is strong in every segment of the population that is growing ... except Mormons," and his GROWING disapproval numbers, nationwide, is my proof. Keep in mind, that the Jewish population, the Queer Nation population (that IS what they call themselves), the atheists of America, and the Muslim population, combined, account for around 5% of the total population. "Growing?" Of course. When you are as small a population as these are, there is nowhere to go "but up." The Catholic/Christian/Morman population is 85% of our national population.
As far as quoting the 1797 treatise, above, readership is reminded that these same men erected monuments dedicated to the Judeo/Christian ethic, carved out of stone, and installed all over D.C. Heck, the Ten Commandments are in stone, inside the courtroom of the Supreme Court. My point - the Founder's notion of separation of church and state had nothing to do with what exists in the trivialized thinking of the Marxist Revolutionaries who have invaded our world of governance.
Atheists are just a small portion of the non-religious.
From 2 years ago - PEW Research:
"The number of Americans who do not identify with any religion continues to grow at a rapid pace. One-fifth of the U.S. public – and a third of adults under 30 – are religiously unaffiliated today, the highest percentages ever in Pew Research Center polling."
33% of Americans under 30 and growing. That is a formidable demographic.
In the last five years alone, the unaffiliated have increased from just over 15% to just under 20% of all U.S. adults.
Religious affiliation decreases with higher levels of education. Conservatives rely on the least educated and the most religious... the population easiest to deceive. Trailer parks.
