First reports as to the downing of Malaysian Flight # 17:

10:30 pt by Midknight Review:  Here are the facts as reported by Fox News and CNN.

Update:  23 Americans were on board.  The plane, apparently, did not disintegrate in midair.

Timeline:

Monday of this week,  a Ukrainian transport plane was shot down by Russian forces.

Wednesday: an Ukrainian fighter jet was shot down.

Thursday morning:  a second Ukrainian transport was shot down followed by the downing of a Malaysian 777 passenger plane with 395 passengers and 15 crewmembers,  shot down at 33,000,  31 miles from ground fighting between Ukranian forces and Russia.

Correction:  make that "295."

The incident is another prime example of the failure of the "sanction policies" of the American government.  Such policies allowed for the deaths of 180,000 civilians in Syria;  the continuation of the nuclear program in Iran,  and,  now the evolving of Russian aggression on their border with Ukraine  --  not to mention the proven silliness of Obama's "reset" policy as to our Russian relationship.

Military experts tell Fox News  (no military experts have yet appeared on CNN) that Malaysian Fight 17 could have only been shot down via a fighter jet or a Russian manufactured SA 17 or related system (SA 7 and SA 11).  You should know that Putin sent the missile hardware capable of causing this tragedy to the (Russian) rebel forces fighting in Ukraine.

There is reason to believe that the actual target was another Ukrainian transport in the air,  that the SA 17 missile picked up on the larger,  777,  and took it down by mistake.

It is reported there are or were Americans on board.  The debris field is said to be some 9 mile wide,  further proof of a high-altitude event.
