Figure 1.
RSS monthly global mean lower-troposphere temperature anomalies (dark blue) and
trend (thick bright blue line), September 1996 to May 2014, showing no trend
for 17 years 9 months.
The
hiatus period of 17 years 9 months (showing little or no global warming -
editor) is the farthest back one can go in the RSS satellite temperature record
and still show a zero trend. But the length of the pause in global warming,
significant though it now is, is of less importance than the ever-growing
discrepancy between the temperature trends predicted by models and the less exciting
real-world temperature change that has been observed . . . text taken from Watts Up With That.
Editor’s notes:
In order words, using satellite
records going back as far as those records exist, there has been no rise in the global averages
for temperature.
This is
not the conclusion of a right-wing nutjob.
No, not at all, unless,
of course, one thinks the
satellite date is the handiwork of a vast,
Rightwing conspiracy.
Proof? Maybe to the ignorant scientific illiterati like Smithson.
ReplyDeleteIf you're truly interested in the truth and you have the capacity to learn, here is a little help to show why Smithson's "proof" is bogus. The first article addresses Smithson's link directly. I doubt he has the capacity to understand, but perhaps some of his readers do.

Article cited by Smithson - another by A Watts.
ReplyDeleteSmithson's idea of a reliable scientific source.
Willard Anthony Watts (Anthony Watts) is a blogger, weathercaster and non-scientist, paid AGW denier who runs the website wattsupwiththat.com. He does not have a university qualification and has no climate credentials other than being a radio weather announcer. His website is parodied and debunked at the website wottsupwiththat.com Watts is on the payroll of the Heartland Institute, which itself is funded by polluting industries.
Point #1: Say what you will. The chart is the collection of data from our satellite(s) not a creation of mine, or a product of the imagined "Right Wing conspiracy."
ReplyDeletePoint #2: Warming is a regional issue, used by the Alrmists, anedotally, to support the fantasy of "global" warming. That is is a fact. In other words, most of the US just finished with one of the coldest, most harsh winters on record. Canada and Mexico are not experiencing record setting weather patterns. these are the fact. Five years ago, Spain experienced record setting heat, to the exclusion of all of its European neighbors . . . . just Spain, yet the morons on the Left, used this as proof of Global Warming.
Point #3: Like I always say, "It ain't global, if it ain't "global."
BTW, Anthony Watts was not my source. The satellite information was . . . . . . government info and all that. Try to keep up.
