Update (Wed. May 21): News as of three days ago: Obama's OFA, his army of volunteer political puppets, is all but gone. From having headquarters in every state in 2008, and an volunteer force of more than 13,000 dedicated to writing emails and doing phone surveys, each and every day, OFA is shutting down more than half of its centers. Reason? Lack of interest. Conclusion: Obama the Myth has been replaced with "Obama the Man," and far fewer young American's like what they see in The Man. I call it, "growing up." You can call it whatever. Understand that in my youth, I was a Democrat. In fact, the last Democrat candidate for president, I voted for, was Jimmy Carter . . . . . and I was an enthusiastic supporter. We all have to do "it" . . . . . . . . grow-up, that is. Now, about the bad news for Obama's Progressives:
Understand that a full 50% of the 2008 youth (Millennial) vote is expected to sit out this midterm election, and, maybe, the 2016.
. . . . strategist’s advice to Democrats . . . . . . . . . “heavily invest” in turning out “progressive Millennials,” pronto. If the party heeds his counsel, expect to hear a lot about gay marriage and birth control over the next six months. Also via WaPo, here’s a chart that employs the (fairly Democrat-friendly) NBC/WSJ polling series to track this year’s fundamentals, comparing the current numbers to surveys conducted before previous midterm waves. Chris Cillizza says the results “should scare Democrats:”

And the following chart is more bad news for the Democrats.
The youth vote represents the future of America. Conservatives know this, thats why they try everything to suppress the youth vote, and hope that they don't turn out.
ReplyDeleteOld ideas are dying. Like trickle down - a proven failure - yet hidebound regressives can't admit it.
The youth everywhere know we have to start acting as one species, with one destiny. We are not going to survive if we don't. It's not just fixing an economic and political system, it's a basic worldview, a basic understanding of who we are that's at stake. It's key to our survival.
Watch the video. Intelligent Americans know this is true.

This is conservative America in a nutshell:

ReplyDeleteThe youth vote you claim "we" are suppressing, has always be liberal. That is how young adults think. Where do you think conservatives come from? Like me, many of them are disappointed Democrats. The youthful Obama supporter is not being driven away by conservatives. They are learning the lesson of a "liberal/fantasy world view."
ReplyDeleteThe only way we get to the point of acting like "one species," is via thought control and the repression of individual accomplishment. Your side of the aisle believes the masses need forced direction; my side of the aisle does not. It is that simple.
As far as the death of "trickle down," you know as well as I, that there is no alternative to trickle down - even the Red Chinese use that reality. Trickle down is "rich man has ideas, buys land, invests in inventories, secures permits, builds a factory, stocks it with machinery, hires a sales force, pays millions and billions for advertising, and hires a workforce." THAT is trickle down. Like I said, you have no alternative to this except welfare - and all welfare funding is the product of "trickle down" economic realities . . . . every penny. Without "trickle down," there is no "safety net," no "welfare," no "social justice."
