Obama manages to combine prayer and political opportunism in a single "religious" event.

<<<   Obama, pretending to be the nation's leading theologian.

At the close of the White House's Easter Prayer Breakfast on Monday, H. Obama called on  Gene Robinson, the first openly gay Episcopal bishop, to lead in a closing prayer.  The close was unexpected,  unplanned,  and unnecessary.

As a self-centered,  secular existentialist,  Obama simply cannot think beyond the "political."  It is all about politics,  with this guy, so much so,  that he cannot [even] participate in the innocence of a prayer breakfast without making it a political event.

His request,  asking Gene Robinson to close out the meeting,  was designed to present a degree of comradery with the retired bishop,  when,  in fact,  there is no "bond of fellowship" between the two men.  This was all about headlines and pushing division.  They were strangers before the breakfast,  and they will be strangers,  years into the future.

Obama wants folks to see his "all-inclusive" sense of tolerance,  in spite of the fact that "inclusive" and "tolerance" have nothing to do with his conduct as the president of these Divided States.

For Obama,  this was another of his "teachable moments."

I am not upset with him for asking a gay to pray.  God listens to all who approach him.  But,  with H Obama,  he simply cannot leave his rebellion and anti-colonial angst at the door.  Divide and conquer is what he thinks he is doing and he cannot allow himself to miss an opportunity to close on such opportunities when they present themselves.
