<<< I have defended Mitch McConnell until now. To fight for his job is one thing, but to declare a broader based war on true conservatives, is quite another.
The story below, makes it clear that McConnell and others, have had it with teaparty conservatives. Understand that since the teaparty fought to give the House back to the GOP, the leadership in the GOP has refused to compromise with teaparty conservatives, refusing to give them a place at "the table" or as chair to the several committees in the House, committee that might be available to them. In 2012, the Establishment ignored Sarah Palin, making it clear that "they" intended on winning that election without the help of either teaparty conservatives or the more socially liberal minded crowd represented by Rand Paul. The sure path to defeat and extinction, as a political party standing at the edge of the cliff, is to continue this fight with 15 million conservatives/libertarians and the voting block they represent. GOP leadership complains that the conservative Right Wing refuses to "play politics," when, in fact, it is they who are ignorant of what is going on. The "800 gorilla" in the room IS THE TEAPARTY. Get used to it, and start kissing up to them, at some level. Ignore them, and your (talking to GOP leadership) stupidity will be become legend.
TPMSenate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) believes that incumbent Republicans won’t have a problem holding their seats in the 2014 elections.“I think we are going to crush them everywhere,” McConnell said about Tea Party challengers in a New York Times interview published Saturday. “I don’t think they are going to have a single nominee anywhere in the country.”McConnell faces a primary challenge from the right. The Senate Conservatives Fund, which backs Tea Party challenger Matt Bevin, believes the candidate has a chance of defeating McConnell the the primary.
