Brewer said she had not heard of one example of religious freedoms being attacked without the bill, considered it broadly worded, and did not address any specific concerns.
She further said that SB 1062 “has the potential to create more problems than it purports to solve” and would be divisive “to a degree that no one would ever want.”
Editor's notes: It was decided in court of law, years ago, that businesses do not share in all the Constitutional rights an individual American has. SB 1062 tried to deal with several issues as the result of an existing law. This bill was a revision of that existing law.
Gov.Brewer is right, if she had signed this bill into law, the problems in Arizona would have been monumental. Our nation is no longer a nation of laws. In many quarters, the Marxist cabal has taken over, and lawlessness is a primary strategy.
I certainly understand the governor's problem.
Down in flames because of public opinion and fellow republicans like McCain. This law even being considered is proof of the regressive and theocratic morons that put it forward. Did you see Al Melvin's interview on CNN? OMG... what a knuckle dragger. And that is the face of the GOP. The guy may be AZ next governor.
ReplyDeleteWhat did they think they were doing when they tried to legalize hate and bigotry? No surprise Smithson was a big supporter.
