Charlie Rangel speaks for all: "Saying your sorry helps no one."

“If I had the problem, saying you’re sorry doesn’t help me worth a damn at the polls, unless I can staple your remarks to the ballot,” Rep. Charles Rangel (D-Manhattan) said.

"If" is important, here, because Rangel is not running for re-election.  He has chosen retirement.  But his point is well taken.  Democrats fear that Obama has lied the Democrat Party out of existence for the coming decade.  That is not written in stone,  of course, but THAT is the fear,  and Rangel is very angry about that possibility.  I have been writting for years,  now,  that Obama will prove to be the worst thing to happen to the Democrat Party ever  . . . . . .  and my prediction is proving to be more accurate than I had hoped.

The only reason why I do not take a victory lap is the fact that
"they" like "us," never give up.  So the ideological war will continue,  but,  for now,  things are as bad as they can get for the Dems.

I mean,  what political victories can they point to over the past 5 years?

(1)  The 2009 Stimulus which was nothing more than legalized graft given to the winners of the 2008 election.  Three fourths of all Stimulus funding went to Democrat contingencies and did not create more than 3,000 permanent jobs.
(2) Dodd/Frank  and their financial bill,  designed to end "too big to fail."  It failed in that regard and the far Left's queen,  Elizabeth Warren,  has made that point just last week.  In fact,  the bill is not fully written and already out of date,  since its passage three years ago.
(3) ObamaCare and the colossal mess that it is,  from the "get go" and in the most predictable of ways.

Since his re-election in 2012,  twelve months ago,  the only political victory the Democrats and Obama can claim,  is the victory won giving them the right to raise the debt ceiling.  Besides the ability to spend more money as fast as they can,  there has been nothing.  And this is not an exaggeration.  They failed to drum up support for gun control,  immigration,  amnesty. a national pre-school for all,  an increase in the minimum wage - all of these programs have been mentioned,  since the beginning of this year.  None of them have "caught fire."  And now,  with the advent of the current disaster (the healthcare roll-out) coupled with the fact that we are fast approaching the campaign season when nothing gets done,  by design, and Obama's agenda,  whatever that might be,  is done.    Yes,  we have to put up with his lies and the Dems feckless defense of same, for the next three stinking years,  but that is the cost of the past election.
