Update #1 NBC News with the Plastic Banana, Brian Williams, interrupted the Jay Leno Show at straight up midnight and, with a somber face, reported the shutdown of the federal government - as if the sky had fallen. Remember, this is the same network reporting the national disaster we call “the sequester” and it proved to be a nothing burger as far as a crisis was concerned.

Update # 2 : Harry Reid refused to meet with House Republicans an hour and a half before the shutdown. He will not talk to anyone until the House sends him a "clean" bill extending the CR for six weeks. Incredible !! His solution is to kick the can down the road, again, as he plays the role of "Supreme Leader." See Reid's quote to the right. You should know that Obama wanted to talk to GOP leadership, but Reid refused.

Update #3 : From Right Scoop, we learn that Senator Ted Cruz will donate his salary during the shutdown.
