. . . . .
. it is not even clear that Republicans control
the House. . . . . they certainly don't
control the Senate. Currently, Democrats in Washington are at least two-thirds
to blame for all this mess.
This is
not to say that Republicans should take all this lightly. Senate Majority
Leader Harry Reid is very cagey at shamelessly blaming others for his own
messes.
Perhaps
Republicans could learn a lesson from Ted Cruz. Despite the complete failure of
his half-baked "strategy" to defund Obamacare, he did a fine job of
standing up and unashamedly making his case to the American people. . . .

Editor’s notes: You should know that the latest Fox polling show the Democrats and Republicans taking the blame for the shutdown, equally, while the teaparty folks come in third place, in the blame game. If the continuation of the shutdown/blame game is more about positioning against and defeating the teaparty influence in D.C., there is little evidence that this strategy is working.
All is not good on this front, however.
There are indications that Boehner is caving, that he is increasingly
critical of the 40 member teaparty caucus, and is less willing to stand
his ground than two days ago.
Understand what "caving" means, in the strategical scheme of things. Specifically, it means that one side did not fully understand the long term demands for standing firm, that it's stance was/is only for show within its own party/caucus, that leadership is not about the support of the more fundamental principles publicly touted by party propagandists. In short, it means that one party has lost its way and is only playing the game of "survival."
Is this what we are witnessing within GOP leadership? We are fully aware of compromising Senate RINO Herd mentality. Sadly, there is reason to believe that Boehner is a part of that cabal, that he has already surrendered to Reid.
Understand that "compromise" in the face of unrelenting and unprincipled opposition, means political death to the faction playing that game, especially in the face of large numbers, within the party, no longer willing to continue the 40 year game of compromise for the sake of political power-without-principle.
The GOP abandoned the teaparty influence in the 2012 national election, and where did it them? In George Bush, we lost our way in terms of a domestic policy, and moved ever closer to an institutionalized socialist/progressive way of life. And genuine conservatives within the GOP have tired of watching their fiscal values, their faith and moral concerns, and, their dedication to founding principles trampled into dust by unbelievers and secular haters of all that is considered "good" in the realistic traditions of that term.
Understand that compromising elements within the GOP made Obama and his hate filled agenda against all that is of traditional value, possible. His goal of "fundamental transformation" is proof of his disdain for this nation's history, founding principles and individually based freedom concerns. He is an enemy to our past, to our traditions, to the 236 year conversation that gave the world the greatest free society in human history.
I leave you with Michelle's summary statement, back in May of 2008, of the comprehensive tone of Barack's anti-American ideology:
"Barack knows that we are going to have to make sacrifices; we are going to have to change our conversation; we're going to have to change our traditions, our history; we're going to have to move into a different place as a nation."
