Not all civil rights leaders are sold out to the national party. Cornel West has plenty to say about Sharpton and his feckless leadership.

Professor Cornel West,  a civil rights leader in his own rite,  speaks out against the devolution of black leadership,  in this country.  Speaking out on the the Tavis Smiley radio show,  West had this to say,  among other things:

“Brother Martin himself, I think, would’ve been turning over in his grave. . . . . . [King would have wanted] people to talk about Wall Street criminality, he wants people to talk about war crimes, or drones dropping bombs on innocent people. Instead, we saw the coronation of the bonafide house negro of the Barack Obama plantation, our dear brother Al Sharpton  . . . . .   Michael Dyson and others who’ve prostituted themselves [also] in a very ugly and vicious way.”
