The lede and the truth:
In a Reuters’ story carefully worded for a number of false impressions, we are told that congress will now received their insurance coverage with federal assistance; in other words, their coverage will be free courtesy of the American taxpayer.
Reporter David Lawder pretends that the OPM made this decision “with Obama’s blessing,” when the fact of the matter is this: Obama personally negotiated this final result. Lawder also pretends that federal staffers will be making insurance enrollment decisions in “soon-to-open” federal exchanges, when none of the 50 state exchanges are in place after three years of work. In fact, it will be no sooner than 2015 before these exchanges are “up and running,” that is, if security checks on the medical information being funneled into the program ever becomes reality. As of this week, these security checks are a distant reality as well.
The reason given for the exemptions and federal aid to purchase, has to do with the fantasy that federal workers, forced to buy health coverage, will suddenly quit their over-stuffed jobs and seek other employment, as if private party employers will do what the feds could not.
In short, the report by Lawder is nothing but a rather involved lie, told to the readership by a willing Progressive who sees the importance of cover-up to protect the larger [Progressive] goal of income redistribution by force. Make no mistake, “redistribution by force” is exactly the case with ObamaCare and the punitive income and property tax systems our politicians, Republican and Democrats alike, have put in place over the past several decades. More than the protection of the evolving Redistribution System, Lawder's lies also protect the Ruling Class from criticism, as if any of us can stop the march to world wide socialism.
The lede and the lie:
By David Lawder
WASHINGTON, Aug 7 (Reuters) - Congress has won some partial relief for lawmakers and their staffs from the "Obamacare" health reforms that it passed and subjected itself to three years ago.
In a ruling issued on Wednesday, U.S. lawmakers and their staffs will continue to receive a federal contribution toward the health insurance that they must purchase through soon-to-open exchanges created by President Barack Obama's signature healthcare law. The decision by the Office of Personnel Management, with Obama's blessing, will prevent the largely unintended loss of healthcare benefits for 535 members of the Senate and House of Representatives and thousands of Capitol Hill staff. . . . . you can read the rest of this lie, here.
