Why Gitmo? Why now?

Obama has three impossible scandals that have simply blown up in his scheming face, so he goes to a safe place, and hides behind his broken promise of closing Gitmo by January of 2010. And why didn't that happen? Because no one within the States wanted these criminals in their own backyards. Problem: nothing has changed in this regard.

His announcement today, regarding Gitmo, is little more than hot air. Indeed, that facility may well be closed, but it is no more a cause for increased terrorist activity than was the killing of Osama bin Laden.
