With
hours to go before nation heads off the fiscal cliff, Georgetown Law professor
Louis Michael Seidman writes that the time has come to scrap the Constitution. In an article found at The Daily Caller, we have these heretical words from someone who should know better.
"In
an op-ed published in the New York Times Monday, Seidman, a
constitutional law professor, claimed that the nation’s foundational document
is the real impediment to progress and solutions to America’s troubles."
Editor's note: obviously, Seidman is an anti-consitutional law professor.
“As
the nation teeters at the edge of fiscal chaos, observers are reaching the
conclusion that the American system of government is broken,” Seidman wrote.
“But almost no one blames the culprit: our insistence on obedience to the
Constitution, with all its archaic, idiosyncratic and downright evil
provisions.”
“If even this change
is impossible, perhaps the dream of a country ruled by ‘We the people’ is
impossibly utopian,” he concluded. “If so, we have to give up on the claim that
we are a self-governing people who can settle our disagreements through mature
and tolerant debate. But before abandoning our heritage of self-government, we
ought to try extricating ourselves from constitutional bondage so that we can
give real freedom a chance.” end of quote
More of Editor's notes: "self government," as established in the constitution, is via an elected and representative congress and presidency . . . . nothing Utopian about that. The present congressional deadlock is not the fault of any of our founding documents. Rather, it is the fault of an increasing Progressive/One World cabal represented, in part, by Mr. Seidman, who have nothing constructive to add to the present circumstance except to abandon our history and silence those who object. No doubt, Seidman would be one of countless academics who would refuse the hiring of conservative faculty, studied individuals who see the disconnect between global warming models and reality, or folks who believe in a divine force outside themselves.
The article does not include any specific examples of failing constitutional language, only the opinion of a tired, old professor who has held this nation's historicity in contempt for decades.
His words and thinking, are, no doubt, a compliment to M. Obama's detailed description of her husband's contempt for this country.
May of 2008:
MICHELLE OBAMA: "Barack knows that we are going to have to make sacrifices; we are going to have to change our conversation; we're going to have to change our traditions, our history; we're going to have to move into a different place as a nation."
MICHELLE OBAMA: "Barack knows that we are going to have to make sacrifices; we are going to have to change our conversation; we're going to have to change our traditions, our history; we're going to have to move into a different place as a nation."
You should know that B. Obama's disdain for this country is so comprehensive - and Seidman's by association - that he even designed a new flag, rejecting the current flag.
Make note of the fact that Obama's flag has no borders, no longer pays tribute to the 13 colonies and replaces the federalist nation (i.e. the 50 stars) with his own symbol for national unity.
Understand that one cannot propose a change to our history, our traditions, our political conversation without, at the same time, rejecting our current and accepted history, traditions and extended political conversations.
We are at an impasse in this country, politically, because the radicalized Left is determined that now is the time to fundamentally transform this nation and the Right has said "no." The current debate includes the revision of certain constitutional protections, but the problem is the Progressive/Socialist/One World/ borderless agenda of the Far Left and folks like Obama and Seidman.
Talk about "Utopian dreams," there is no more comprehensive Utopian dream than that which declares that equality of opportunity must lead to a classless society. THAT is "Utopian" and its reality have never existed anywhere on this earth, in large populations, outside the "dream." Never forget that it was at Georgtown, in the spring of 2009, that Obama ordered the name of "Jesus" covered before he would deliver a commencements address on that campus (a stand for nothing Catholic institution).
The irreverence of folks like Seidman and B. Hussein Obama is not reserved for this nation's colonial traditions. It extends to all things "holy" and traditional, in this country.
