Seriously, this sort of thing happens 2.5 million times a year and the "do-gooders" of the nation want us to simply lay down and die !!

<<< Here is why every state in the Union has a pro concealed weapons law.  By the way, concealed weapons are not the problem and have never been used in a mass shooting.

(Casper Star Tribune) — A gunman retreated from a Casper nail salon last week after realizing one of its customers was packing heat.

Police say about 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 3, a man walked into Modern Nails at 2645 E. Second St. and asked a female employee if she wanted to buy some diamonds. The man walked toward the front desk area and the woman replied that she had no money to buy diamonds.

A witness said the man then reached into his coat pocket and began to take out a silver-colored pistol.

At that moment, a woman who was getting her nails done reached into her purse and got her own firearm. Police say the man never fully raised the gun and left the building after seeing the customer had her weapon out.

Update:  sources tell us that gun prosecutions under the Obama Administration are down 40%  (Washington Secrets)

Update and another example of guns being used to save lives.  Understand,  it is not the gun,  but the people using  guns who either save or take lives.  The gun,  itself,  is not the problem.

(WOAI) — Two people are hospitalized after a gunman chased terrified restaurant patrons into the lobby of the Santikos Mayan 14 movie theater during a showing of “The Hobbit” last night, 1200 WOAI news reports. . . .  “It started at the restaurant and then went into the parking lot and then into the movie theater,” Deputy Lou Antu told 1200 WOAI news. . . . He opened fire, shooting one man in the chest, before Antu says an off duty sheriff’s deputy who was working security at the theater shot him once.  “The officer involved, she took the appropriate action to try to keep everyone safe in the movie theater,” Antu said.
The gunman and the patron [were] hospitalized.
Antu says the gunman never made it into the theater itself, thanks largely to the heroic work of the off duty deputy. “She did what she felt she had to do,” Antu said. “I feel that she saved a lot of lives by taking the action she had to take.”

  1. Thoughts on the 2nd Amendment:
    1) It starts with the words "well regulated." The founders knew there needed to be gun laws and 'regulations' ... but did they envision - during their era of single shot muskets - a time where extended clip semi-automatic handguns would be available to all and ammunition available at any Walmart?

    2) Guns at Home Increase Dangers, Not Safety
Based on a review of the available scientific data, access to guns greatly increases the risk of death and firearm-related violence. A gun in the home is twelve times more likely to result in the death of a household member or visitor than an intruder.

  2. Finally, a decent effort at having a conversation.

As to "1)," I have some thoughts, but your comment deserves some consideration.

As to "2)" this ignores the fact that a) kids live in a home, an intruder is unlikely to be in a home . . . . . . . . ever. b) Understand that more children drown in swimming pools and toilets than are killed in a home due to accidental gun fire.
