Ted Strickland, kicked out as governor of Ohio in 2010, gets even in his "Romney is no patriot" speech of the night.

<<<<  in his first term as Ohio governor  (and his last term),  Ted Strickland ran up an 8 billion dollar deficit and was defeated by Republican John Kasich in the fall of 2010. Tonight,  out of angry for his past defeat,  Strickland attacked Mitt Romney on spiritual grounds,  as a patriot,  and as a honest candidate for the presidency. How's that for an issue oriented convention?

In 2010,  Barack Obama went to Ohio to save Strickland’s job as governor.  He failed.

Tonight,  Tuesday,  September 4,  Strickland got even with the Republicans with the most partisan speech of the night.  He argued that Mitt Romney would do well to “keep both his treasure and his heart in the United States of America,” He charged that Romney had vast savings abroad,  hidden in Swiss bank accounts (Mitt closed these accounts three years ago)and then,  attacked Mitt’s patriotism.

“Mitt Romney has so little economic patriotism that even his money needs a passport.”

During the speech,  this jerk had the audacity to quote the Bible,  a book he knows nothing about,  a book only quoted by liberals when they are trying to bury an opponent or justify some of their more lurid social practices.  Talking about Romney’s wealth, he quoted Matthew 6:21: “Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be.”

Strickland would do well to reveal his own taxes and compare his giving to the needy and his church (surely he is a man of god since he quotes the bible and all) with Romney’s 16 percent  in donations over the past decade (10% percent to his church and 6% to charities) . Last year,  Romney paid about 4.5 million taxes and an additional 6 million to his church and select charities.
