Over the entire 20-year period of 1990 through 2009, the average annual effective federal tax rate
was 20.20%. While the Democrats will
argue something along the lines of, “So, you are going to trust Romney on what he says
he paid,” we hasten to point out that
Romney is NOT the one making this claim.
Not at all.
Rather, this
conclusion comes after a full review of the very prestigious PricewaterhouseCoopers,
LLP , which has done Romney’s income tax submissions for decades. The company is based in London, England and
has well over 700 offices, world
wide. It is the largest of all
multinational professional services in the world. By its lonesome, PWH audits approximated 1/3 of all companies in the Financial Times
Global index and, again, in the Fortune Global 500.
In the report submitted Friday morning, Pricewaterhouse notarizes their comments
which include the following:
· In each
year during the entire 20-year period, the Romneys owed both state and
federal income taxes.
· Over
the entire 20-year period, the average annual effective federal tax rate was
20.20%.
· Over
the entire 20-year period, the lowest annual effective federal personal tax
rate was 13.66%.
· Over
the entire 20-year period, the Romneys gave to charity an average of 13.45% of
their adjusted gross income.
· Over
the entire 20-year period, the total federal and state taxes owed plus the
total charitable donations deducted represented 38.49% of total AGI.
While the commies at MSNBC
(on yes they are) pretended that this reporting was another Romney
campaign mistake, the fact of the matter
is this: this is authoritative documentation
that is above any serious challenge from the Left. It proves the Left, and especially the hapless Harry Reid, to be liars of the first order. And I use the word “liars” advisedly. Understand that Harry Reid simply decided to
claim that Romney paid no income tax for the last ten years. Our idiot media did not call him on
this, and, instead,
used him as a source for stories that continued to parrot this lie.
With this PWH documentation,
we now know that Romney paid more taxes that he needed to, and gave to church/charities at a higher rate
of pay, than Obama, putting Reid and
Biden to shame in their giving.
We now have two years of Romney’s taxes in several thousand
pages and a notarized summary. McCain
submitted two years in his campaign against Obama and all pundits were
satisfied with that submission. John
Kerry, put together a 12 year
submission, but this was never released
to the public - in other words, he submitted nothing as relates to his income
tax.
