Answer: "Nothing" can always be defeated by "next to nothing." Question: How can a film that no one has seen, defeat the foreign policy agenda of Obama?

<<<<<   If that final "last world war" is not going to happen,  we need to do something more than elect leadership that will do more than stand around, hoping of change we can believe in, no ?!

Apparently,  there is a movie of which  the world has only seen clips.  From late reports,  the film is low budget and amateurish.

And,  true to form,  the “Blame Anyone But Me”  administration of Barack Obama,  is desperately trying to convince the observing world and,  especially,  the American voter,  that the current unrest throughout most of the Arab/Muslim world is the fault of this video.

Understand that when someone asks an Obama pundit,  “Exactly what are your accomplishments in foreign policy,  especially in the Muslim world?”  the first response is, “We killed Osama bin Laden and a bunch of the AlQaeda/Taiband leadership.”

To which we say,  “O.K.,  but we already know that.  What else?”

I (as editor) would add in an answer of some sort at this point in this post,  but I really have no idea what comes next in their list of accomplishments.
Bob Beckel,  a liberal FoxNews analist (the spelling is exactly what I intended to be,  btw)  was asked the same question by his partners on The Five.  His first answer was “bin laden,” of course.  But when pressed for a second accomplishment,  he actually had to stop and think.  He came up with some meeting of the minds Obama had orchestrated.  In other words,  nothing.
Here is my question,  and I have an answer.

Question:  how in the world does a movie clip that virtually no one has seen,  including those in the Muslim world,  overcome all that Obama has done in and for the Muslim world?  Before giving the answer,  here is what he has done:

-         ---  In June of 2009,  he gave a speech “to the Muslim World,” at the University of Cairo.  Why there?  Because he imagined a certain affinity  between himself and other academics. His follow-up to this speech was to walk away from that moment,  a truly historical time,  and leave that audience with the impression that Israel was,  indeed, an occupier of Palestinian lands and that the United States had been irresponsible in its dealings with the Palestinian/Muslim world . . . . . in other words,  his follow-up involved doing  nothing.  Whether or not we agreed with all that he said,  certainly he could have moved the discussion between the two worlds into a historic diplomatic and continuing effort,  if only he had thought to do,  but,  instead,  [again] he chose to do absolutely nothing.

-         --  He has given Hamas [in Gaza] more than 3 billion in aid,  since his election.  A great follow-up to this gifted money would have been to initiate a diplomatic effort bringing Israel and the PLO to the bargaining table.  But,  instead,  he chose to do absolutely nothing.  In fact,  he has not so much as visited the region,  either Palestine or Israel,  a single time in the past four years. When I say, “Nothing,” I mean nothing.

-         --  He has given several speeches, over the years,  in which he has made it clear that the Palestinian/Arab population has the “right of return” and certain claims to parts of the region.  To date,  he has followed up on these speeches with  . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . you guessed it, absolutely nothing. What good is it to chose sides and then go play another round of golf?

-         -- He helped to initiate the end of the power base in Egypt and Libya, but refused to send troops or actually take the lead with the ensuing military effort,  preferring to leave all matters of leadership to NATO.  In fact,  he refused to offer air-support for the continuing efforts in Egypt and Libya, choosing, rather,  to stand on the sidelines and watch while both countries [Libya and Egypt],  replaced the void in national leadership with radical elements that are proving to be far worse [to the interests of the United States] than anything imagined under the Gaddaffi and Mubarak regimes.  He has taken credit for the end of the two tyrants but stands by hoping that the end result will be another moment for which he can assume credit.

    - He has stood by and watched while Iran develops its nuclear arsenal, believing,  somehow,  that Iran's national sovereignty in this matter is more important than peace in the region or  the survival is Israel.  He has done nothing in this regard, while, ingeniously, making it appear as if it were a diplomatic constructive.  When you make something out of nothing,  what have you created?  Unless you are God,  you have created  . . . . . . . .  nothing.

And with this comprehensive summary of the Obama foreign policy in the Middle East,  we come back to "the question."

And the question was, “How in the world does a movie clip that virtually no one has seen,  including those in the Muslim world,  overcome all that Obama has done in and for the Muslim world?”

Answer:  the film is not the problem,  rather “nothing” is.  When you have a true void,  anything – a speck of dust -  can invade its domain and cause havoc.  If there is nothing “there” to resist,  "nothing" is defeated by “next to nothing.”
